Well I had planned to have something sort of healthy. Meat & steamed veg. Had a bad day at work (bloody Australian managers) and ended up having corned beef, cheese & tomato toasted sandwiches. While finishing off a half bottle of white wine. Then cursing my 16 year old for eating all the chocolate biscuits that were open. Still tomorrow's another day. Keep plugging away Pete. Don’t let them grind you down.

Why do crinkly fries/chips taste better than chunky or straight cut? Is it because the crinkles maximise surface area? Is it all in my head? Did you know that the Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird leaks fuel/hydraulics from its tanks when grounded? When it flies supersonic the heat expands its surface area and the small gaps are sealed. Wow. This thing was first introduced in 1966 meaning testing probably took place in the Forties. Imagine what the people who witnessed this thing must have thought? No wonder there are so many UFO stories from the states. Anyway I digress as usual, yeh crinkle chips kick ass man. Should sell em in Mac D’s.

Same with grated cheese, increases the surface area and more taste buds used. SR71 developed from the A12 which was a 1950s design but definitely explains the likes of Area 51. I was driving home listening to the radio one day and they were talking about vinegar on chips, next thing I noticed was an aroma of chips, very much a Pavlovian response.

I wasn't allowed crinkle cut chips as a kid, which is surprising when I see photos of the haircuts my mother gave me....

V interesting ref the cheese, I hadn’t considered that. I will check out the A12. A few weeks ago I was talking to a guy in work who said that if you smell toast it could be the early warning sign of a stroke. Three days later I am driving through Avonmouth, low (lo?) and behold (weird saying, never had to write it before) I can smell toast! Panic sets in, do I pull over? Do I hope the stroke doesn’t kick in until I get to my destination. Anyway I carry on with my day and nothing untoward (another weird saying) happens. Next day back in the office I explain my experience to the guy I was talking to previously. He asks where I was, I tell him I was getting on the M5 at Avonmouth. He says “you daft ape, you were driving past the Hovis factory! It always smells of toast on that stretch!” Ahhhhh sorry guys I’ve digressed again.

The B2 stealth bomber first went in the production line in 1978, 33 years after the spitfire was being flown and 23 years before it was out in the public, its now 33 years old the same amount of time between the flight of spitfires, We really have no idea whats in the skys, stealth bombers are paraded around like they are cutting edge but they might as well be being flown by the Wright brothers Curry sauce on chips for me
