Can't blame the pitch for complete lack of quality. We was shockingly poor tonight, the ball was just being kicked anywhere. Was embarrassing to watch at times.

Less said about that the better. Feel sorry for anyone who went. At least we’re into the next round UTG Don’t do. A wonderful time was had, that was a proper scrappy horrible cup tie if ever there was one. The very early goal sealed it & I thought we defended superbly. Consider the ball didn’t stick up front even once in the second half, to a man I thought the lads at the back were immense. Also, fake pitches are an absolute abomination. One slight touch and the ball runs away from you, by 10 yards or more. Just awful. This is before the home fans try and set fire to it of course. Back in the warmth of the coach with my fellow hardy souls. Bring on the Pilgrims. ............. but the ball did stick for the Bromley players - so that shouldn't be an excuse. Lets hope for much much better v Plymouth.

I also notice on social media that our very own THD has called for 3G pitches to be banned, given his terrible injuries to his knee are attributed to this kind of surface.

That’s true we are absolutely awful to watch and Bromley have been robbed. BUT we’ve been pretty much mostly awful since Coggers took over and have gone from relegation certainties to staying up to on the verge of the play offs. We rob teams on a regular basis with our utterly sh**e football ( on the ball) which has taken us to our best season so far in what 10 - 12 years. We’ve just got to keep our chins up and enjoy it. This is most likely the best we can expect position wise with the board , budget, ground and facilities that we’ve got. We’re tough to break down and Coughlan is clearly a fantastic defensive coach and his defensive signings have all been very good, along with JCH. It’s working. I watch us on a regular basis so I’m aware of all that, I just thought today we were especially poor compared to usual. The result makes me mightily relieved and I think there’s still a lot to be positive about, It’s just today’s performance probably merited a comfortable Bromley victory. Not a great advert for us at all. The result matters more than the performance in the FA cup though so I’ll take it and move on. Agreed , I’m relieved too. The thing you say about the result matters more than the performance because it’s the cup ? Results always matter more than performances, and that why were 7th in league 1 with poor attendances. If we were playing good football with where we are in the league the Mem would be rocking. Personally I’ll always go to every game at home and some aways too but I totally get why the few thousand fans that go to the odd game probably see us under Coughlan , watch us win but it’s terrible to watch , poor attendance, poor atmosphere and decide next time they’re thinking about it to not bother.

Typical performance by the sound of it. Flat football, very little pace , movement or creativity but the defence was solid and we ground it out. I can completely see why our crowds are so low and the atmosphere is so poor at home but once again Job done, If we were playing good football and 7th in league 1 we’d be getting 2000 more on the gate. Yes, our performances don’t change too much. We win ugly, we lose ugly, it’s all very fine margins. Perhaps this cup run will provide the funds to buy the creative midfielder we need. Trouble is I’m not sure GC really wants a creative midfielder, he has his system which he sticks to and it’s working results-wise. UTG! Yeah I think if Cogs had the money to buy someone he’d buy a big bastard of a centre half or another ball winning midfielder. It ain’t going to change but we might make the play offs and have a chance of making the championship. Funny old game init .

I thought we gave a good account ourselves over two matches. Probably deserved more but if you dont take your chances that's what happens.
Lots more to play for for Bromley this year. We have a decent team and are building as a club and fanbase.
Lots for us to be confident about going forward. After all we were playing 3 leagues lower with 300 supporters 15 years ago.

Absolutely, good advert for the National league from yourselves. You played some nice football and with a little bit more quality will be a right handful. Play like that for the rest of the season and you'll be in the league. Very well done, good account for yourselves, apart from the stupid tw@t throwing a flare I thought your fans were good, some "interesting" and funny shouts coming through on the commentary! Very unlucky with the first half goal which should have stood, maybe if the whistle hadnt been blown we may have cleared it but it should never have been offside. Right call on the second though. I was impressed, you played well, good on the ball and created some chances. Clearly you are good on set pieces and that will stand you in good stead in the league. Good luck for the rest of the season, unfortunately for you the result didn't go your way and it'll go down as game to forget for the rest of us! We won, gritty performance, good defending, move on to the next one UTG

I don't give a sh** about the performance. We got the right result.
GC said we went there with a game plan, and by hook or by crook we got the result. Job done as far as I'm concerned because any one-off against a top Conference team, on a plastic pitch, ain't gonna be a walk in the park.
We've made money and we have a home game against Plymouth, a decent, well supported team. Let's hope we fill The Mem and get a result.
UTG !

also on a side note away from the game today,
What's the standing in the League for a 3G pitch? If Bromley continue to do well and do get promoted, will they have to relay the pitch to grass? (Or like us woven grass?)

Well hopefully the cash from tonight can be invested in some functional toilets and some more bar options. Anyway best of luck for the season. See you again at some point hopefully.

Well I’m sat by the fire in the Wetherspoons in Bromley and chilling in a good way, rather than chilling watching that dire excuse of a performance.
It was a really hard watch and after our scrappy goal we never looked like scoring again. Bromley were extremely wasteful and it wasn’t heroic defending that saw us through any less than their woeful finishing.
The only entertainment was their juvenile fans not seeming to know the rules , celebrating both of the disallowed goals and setting fire to the pitch.

(Or like us woven grass?) [/quote] Ripped up and relayed, the club have committed to do this already, actually said it last year were there were no prospects of going up. They wint do it without promotion though. Make a lot of revenue from the pitch

It’s the cup so it’s all about the result. Well done GC and players. I know it’s the same for all players but none of our players could predict the bounce or hold on to the ball when it came to them. Back 3 were very good and Rollin was MOM. Congrats to him, well deserved imo. UTG! Seems a bit weird though for your main tactic, on a plastic pitch, to involve keeping the ball in the air and inviting plenty of bounce! Ah well, maybe GC is waiting til we play on sand to unleash his Guardiola-seque passing philosophy....

What was the plan I wonder, sneek a goal in the first few minutes and then defend for our lives for the next 90 mins and just hope the luck goes our way?
