Gas just made 'Mastermind'.Contestant's subject was Tranmere Rovers.Q.Who captained Tranmere in the Daf Leyland final at Wembley against Bristol Rovers? Good omen as Scunthorpe never got mentioned. He didn't know it. I bet most on here would know who captained the Gas that day.

Scunthorpe are well off the pace with just two points from their last possible twelve.
We don't score much lately but I'm going for a 1-0 win.

You could be right could be a good omen. Funny story, the day before our playoff final I was digging a 2 meter trench for foundations for an extension in Ashton and right at the bottom I found an old bottle , must have been there decades, it was perfectly intact and had GRIMSBY cut in to it. The 82er I was working with couldn't believe his luck and took great joy in telling me how it was an omen and Grimsby would win the final. He even took the bottle home for luck. I've got to be honest of all the names and places that could have been on the bottle the fact it was our forthcoming opponents scared the crap out of me but it turned out alright didn't it.

Big game today .... good performance will set us up nicely for the next two Bolton and Oxford.
If we get turned over badly, we will see a load of changes for Tuesday and we are on a downward trend again.
Think we will compete today .... think we will score today .... think we will draw today .... 1-1 . Another demonstration please that we can go toe to toe with the best in this league. They will be a serious handful though have some of the best attacking players in the division so will be a real test for our defensive unit.
Would be delighted to see a goal from Luke or Ellis ......

Hoping we can pinch a win- tough game this and Scunthorpe are certainly to be respected - go for 2-1 with a winner from Ellis

Can't remember the past league game with a sub 7k attendance, 8-9k seems to be the average now Ticket sales yesterday seemed to suggest a 9-10k attendance. I'm sad enough to check the night before they go off sale by counting available tickets in each area of the ground on the ticketing website. There was about 2,500 left which usually after subtracting from the 12,300 balances out day sales with loss from segregation and under sale from the away end.

There has been a lot of talk about trying to sign Lumley and Sweeney on permanent deals in the Summer. Although it seems Lumley is a much more likely deal to happen than Sweeney. For either of them to come back they would probably have to really enjoy their time here. I do think that the quality of support plays a big part in how much a player enjoys his time at a club (especially for young players with not a lot of first team experience). Hopefully the fans can do their bit. UTG!
