11 pages on their match thread and they haven't mentioned Moore or Lines once!! Unfortunately we haven't mentioned Moore much either. Think there's a reason for that...

I'd love it if Byron put in a great performance tomorrow. He must be getting a bit of match fitness back now. Let's get behind the lad. He has some quality about him but seems to lack confidence at the moment.

Be nice to get a win tomorrow it's seems like an age since Oldham.

Since the start of December Vale's home league form as been P:5 W:1 D:1 L:3 the 3 defeats against mid table teams, tomorrow looks the perfect game to break our long winless run.

They will be saying the same thing about us with our away from.
From memory they had an excellent home record at the beginning of the season, and awful away.

Yep we both think we should be wining the game, so it's bound to be a bore draw!

They don't want to lose another at home. We don't want to lose another away. But we are the Gas. So a 90th minute fluke from Ellis makes it 1-0 to us.

Blimey these match day threads are getting earlier and earlier. Might as well do them now for the rest of the season at this rate!
On a more serious note would it be a good idea to possibly have pre match, match and post match threads? Maybe even in a separate section of the forum? It would be much easier to follow from a retrospective point of view to see how the match has panned out with build up and reactions now the forum is getting more popular.

Gutted to not be going today as I think we will get an away win up there, I'm gonna plump for a 2-0, another solid defensive performance from the boys and Gaffers to finally get a bit of confidence and find the net.

How can it be a 'matchday thread' before it's even match day?

The last time we won at Port vale: 1991/1992 Sat 14 Mar Port Vale 0 - 1 Bristol Rovers- in The Championship !! - Were you there ??
The last time we did the double over them ( which we can obviously do today was) 1956-57.
Will be happy with a point - they are battling to avoid the drop. Think it'll be 1 - 1.

Weather dry.Foggy up here but will clear by lunch-time.M6 flowing freely up here.B ring it on. 94.6 FM for radio commentary with Stoke having no game should be all us and a little bit of Crewe.

0-1 for me too! I'll go for Sweeney (against Stoke's traditional rivals) As Stoke aren't playing today there could be some Stokies in the away end today to have a look at him after the rave reviews he's been getting.

Last tine I went to Port Vale was the play off final 2nd leg defeat in 1989. Lost 1-0 and Port Vale got promoted. I seem to recall that there was a kind of dry moat at the front of the away end to stop fans climbing over the top and getting on the pitch (memory not as good as it used to be tho). Still, we went up as champions the following season. I had planned to go today but I've got some family stuff to help sort out so footie has to take 2nd place today.

Hope for another win but think it will be a score draw possibly 1-1 with the goal from either Gaffney or James if playing.
