We are missing a player with the ability and brain like Monkhouse or Clarkson - Easter should be that player

Absolute joke to blame TL for the first. It was Puddy's fault and Puddy's fault only. Couldn't really see if the penalty was justified from the away end and it wasn't much clearer from the reply. Looks to me a bit harsh as the ball is just smashed at PH. As others have said the real disappointment today was how lacklustre we were as a whole team. Don't get why we play four central midfielders against the side rock bottom but there we go. I don't get it either. Playing four central midfielders is just plain daft and it produces ugly football and we hardly ever pick up points. If DC doesn't rate our wingers then he needs to get rid and bringin some new Ones in ASAP because we are going to end up in a relegation scrap if we carry on playing such narrow football , we just don't create enough without wide men. It really does feel a bit like DC has lost the plot these last couple of months. The blokes a legend for what he's achieved but I just don't get most of his decisions lately where as in the past everything he did added up and made sense. I don't disagree but DC would have been crucified on here if he'd changed a winning team and they played as poorly as today's team, what's a mystery is how Boateng was MofM against Bury and also played well at Millwall but had a complete shocker today but why didn't he bring on Lines after 30 mins as it was obvious midfield was being overrun. Also why didn't DC have either Leads or Monty on the bench, Shrews left winger ran us ragged the whole game but I doubt he is any better a winger than Monty.

Some of the team looked like they weren't bothered, weren't committed. This is what upset me most about the debacle this afternoon. I haven't really seen this from a DC team before, odd days and odd players apart. There's very few of the team I would be bothered anymore if they were moved on in January. I thought this was our worst performance since Altrincham away in the Conference. The boos and jeers at the end were fully justified, in my book. In front of 1500 fans who bothered to spend the money and turn up. Pity the players on the pitch didn't. BTW, I'm not normally one to slag off the team, but I'm prepared to call it after a shambles like today. Here we go. Here we go where? K4 is quite right. I've defended the team for some weeks now but today was indefensible. Yet again a team at the bottom were made to look far better than they are. Radical changes are needed.

Massive task for DC in the next 6 weeks, we've seen a decline in the last 8 weeks, players struggling to work together, nothing seems to work out, forwards seem incapable of making space, scary defensive blunders. I fear if we don't start playing soon we will have a nail biting finish to the end of the season

Radical changes are needed. The idea that professional sportsmen are just not trying is and always has been frankly ridiculous. It is far more personal than a comment on skill or aptitude and far less likely to be accurate. It is the first preserve of the bitterness that can disconnect a club from its fans and create an atmosphere that can become destructive. It is a hypothesis which cannot be proven and a comment which can never be shown to have any basis in objective fact. So ... as I said: Here we go.

Your Worship, I share your concerns re creating a destructive atmosphere, and I agree that it cannot be proven that some players lacked application. However, DC in his post-match interview twice alludes to lack of application, so I'm in good company. After sleeping on it, I'm less upset than I was, and I was never slagging off the whole team. Onwards and upwards - before the season started, I said my target was survival in League Two, anything else was a bonus. Our squad has achieved miracles over the past two years - although there can never be any sitting on their laurels. I trust in the manager and the board to do what we need in order to progress. UTG!

All of this is is very good stuff, but what can a manager do when a player deliberately handballs in the penalty area and a keeper decides to stop Tom's safe header for a corner and throw the ball back to the opponents and then pretend he's been kicked in the head?

Watching the highlights, I don't think you can entirely blame Hartley for the handball. The marking in the build up to it was truly dreadful, if I was the manager of a Sunday league side I would be annoyed with my players for the way they all stopped and watched that guy run through. UTG!
