You do this every time. Goals per game is a fallacy. Goals per minutes played is the appropriate measure.Matty a goal every 129 minutes. 3 Penalties converted.
Easter a goal every 241 minutes. 2 Assists 1 Penalty converted.
Harrison a goal every 320 minutes. 1 Assist
Gaffney a goal every 864 minutes. 1 Assist
Last season, all competitions.
Matty, strangely again a goal every 129 minutes. 5 Assists. 1 Penalty converted
Harrison a goal every 190 minutes. 3 Penalties converted.
Gaffney a goal every 234 minutes. 3 Assists
Easter a goal every 266 minutes. 5 Assists
14/15, all competitions.
Harrison a goal every 98 minutes. 3 Assists. 1 Penalty converted.
Taylor a goal every 185 minutes. 6 Assists. 5 Penalties converted.
And here's where you say about how he's got a better record than Gaffney, and I've already acknowledged that, but Gaffney and Easter both offer a lot more to the team than Ellis. He can't replace Taylor because Taylor is a better goal scorer and offers more to the team. If anything, all it proves is that at the moment Ellis is a very good conference striker with the ability to be a good League 2 striker. League 1 is possible but he's often wasteful and doesn't know how to utilise his own talent. He should be an impact sub at best, like the conference season, at though at least then he probably deserved more starts than he had whereas this season he hasn't deserved as many as he has had.
When I pulled up stats early in the conference season Ellis then went and proved me wrong, so here's hoping he does it again but in ten years time Ellis won't be here and will probably be at the Gate with his season ticket , but I'll still be supporting Rovers.
An interesting analysis to support or disprove that proposition would be goals scored (by anyone) per minute while Harrison or Gaffney were on the pitch ... If you can be bothered. I bet someone can.
