Hopefully the U21 teams wont be in this competition next season. The message from the supporters off the league clubs should recognized.
Most decent U23 players are on loan to league clubs anyway, many are ironically playing against these U23 sides!
I'd have a cap on squad numbers and foreigners but it will never happen with the money in football currently.

Very good article on the MSN front page today from the Guardian about this farce of a competition. It includes a picture showing a loan gashead in one of our stands. Hopefully someone more computer aware can post a link.

It has nothing to do with money. Its EU law. The quicker we get out the better.

Forget this one on. To be honest I could not give a sh*t if we lose. This whole competition if just a distraction we don't need

I know the overwhelming view of supporters on this forum is anti EFL Trophy and pro FA Cup, but what is DC's view? The odds of reaching the final and lifting the FA Cup must be astronomical whereas getting his hands on the tinpot is more realistic. From his CV point of view I wouldn't mind betting that ticking the silverware box is higher on his agenda than ours as it would demonstrate a different skill set and prove he is the complete manager.

The photo is meaningless unless you know when it was taken and a few other details.
I could take a photo at The Mem just after the gates are opened showing just one Gashead sat or stood with no other Gashead in sight.

Rules state 5 players to be selected from previous line-up so he's picked a good 5 there: Easter, Boateng etc who haven't had much game time. Glad to see Browner given a rest (including travelling) - he deserves it!

Does anyone know if Pompey got fined for weakened side they played earlier? www.bristolpost.co.uk/portsmouth-boss-paul-cook-hints-at-weakened-side-for-bristol-rovers-efl-trophy-clash/story-29874212-detail/story.html?Portsmouth boss Paul Cook is unlikely to change his principled stance on the EFL Trophy in a bid to end a run of consecutive defeats at Fratton Park when his side face Bristol Rovers on Tuesday night. Pompey were knocked out of the FA Cup by Wycombe on Saturday to extend their winless run on home soil to three games. Cook's side, who are currently fifth in League Two, have failed to win in front of their home supporters since a 5-1 drubbing of Martin Allen's Barnet on September 24. 'Do whatever you want to do, call it what you like, I am not really into those type of stats," Cook said. "We might lose four tomorrow night (Checkatrade Trophy) with the team we put out. "The reality is we are out of the cup and are fifth in the league, so you can dress it up exactly as you want. "If you look at where we are as a team, this is an inconsistent side, that is the reality of the result – and you can offer your opinion on how that has happened." Cook has ignored competition rules that limit the amount of changes that can be made to his side for EFL Trophy games. The Pompey boss made 11 changes for the first group round game against Yeovil Town in August and followed that up by making 10 for the match against Reading Under21 last month. Supporters have backed Cook's stance after setting up a crowd funding page in a bid to raise the fine of £15,000 Portsmouth were likely to receive for flouting the rules in all of the three games. They have so far raised £360 and have also made their feelings on the competition known by voting with their feet. The attendance of 1,355 for the Reading Under21 match was a post-war record low and there is unlikely to be a vast increase in footfall at Fratton Park tomorrow night.
