A good win tonight after an uninspiring first half, but that is just my opinion! My ratings for the night are as follows; Roos 7- A steady day at the office for our Dutch No1, looked a little shaky when receiving the bal to feet in the first half but looked much more assured in the second and slowed the game down really well for us, got down well for a couple of saves but wasn't overly tested, pleased he did well after Saturday! Leadbitter 7.5- Attacked up the right hand side to great affect and defended well, I can't recall a point in the game where we looked in danger down that side, some of his crossing though does bemuse me at times but hey, if his delivery was a lot better he would be playing in the championship. Lockyer 6- I'm indifferent with locks, I love his positional sense as a CB but his lack of pace will be found out a lot this season, But I can't help but feel our lack of right sided CB's is the only reason for his ever presence so far this campaign, I think a game or two would do him some good and give him that kick he needs to be able to push on as a player, he will only get better! Clarke-Salter 8.5- Does this boy lose an aerial battle?! Dominant in the air and composed with his feet, he reads the game so well for a man of his age and seems to have an abundance of experience for a player who has only played a handful of league games, you can tell the lad has learnt from a player like JT in my opinion, a gem I think we are lucky to have! Brown 6- As much as I love to love Browner, he is another one that I can't help but feel would benefit from watching a couple of games from the bench, I feel Roberts is an adequate replacement for him, his first half performance was potentially the worst I've seen from him this season, but again our lack of depth in that area is probably the reasoning behind his selection, he improved greatly in the second half and showed much better composure on the ball but at times his powderpuff crosses leave me baffled! Moore 6.5 - For me In the first half he just didn't receive the ball enough and when he does get it he needs to be taking his man on more, a player will great skill and pace but in my opinion doesn't use it enough, he chooses to cut in on his weaker side but like the majority of the squad I though he improved in the sencond half, linked up very well with Leadbitter and they started to cause fleetwood more problems as the game went on! Sinclair 6.5 I know people love to have a go about the 5-3-2 but that for me is when Sinclair is at his best, he made his tackles and won the ball but when he has one less player to give the ball off too he becomes much less effective, showed good touches in the first half but for me he just doesn't work in a two man midfield! Lines 6.6- I'll give him a slightly better rating than Sinclair but again, we were missing that extra man in midfield, there was so much space between Fleetwoods defence and midfield in the first half and it was crying out for a player in that hole, Easter from the off would have been perfect for that! Didn't take the game by the scruff of the neck tonight although he didn't do badly, I feel that he has a lot more too give In terms of personal performance. Montano 8- Got up and down the wing magnificently and showed some fantastic driving runs, lucky with the goal but he worked his socks off all night and he also provides brown with brilliant defensive cover, one of his better performances in the blue and white ! Harrison 5- I am by no means a knocker off Ellis, I rate him and at times he is a brilliant player and I love to fight his corner but his first half was just about the worst I've seen him play, he may as well not have been on the pitch and he was a far cry from some of the performances we have seen from him so far this season, he didn't put himself about at all and his header that went over just about summed up his night ! Taylor 7- I have a frustration with Matty, he should score a lot more than he does but he should also create a lot more, I get it, strikers are there to score goals and that's what he does, but he needs to make a lot more of some of the positions he gets himself in too in terms of his decision making and bringing others into play around the box, a good goal and a strong performance but I feel he needs to improve a lot of aspects in his game! I know that my ratings might seem harsh but like DC says, you've never cracked this game and nobody can say we were at our best tonight, we will learn a lot from tonight and I think it's brilliant that we are grinding out results even when we aren't the most convincing, I just feel if we become too over confident we will expect too much from the boys and get complacent but there is always things to improve on! You ain't no SteveK lad This is a forum is it not ?!

A couple of anomalies in your post, methinks? Lockyer: "but his lack of pace will be found out a lot this season" and "give him that kick he needs to be able to push on as a player": No matter how much he kicks on, his pace is not liable to improve. He is not an Olympic athlete, so although he may well wish he was quicker, it is not one of his attributes, nor is passing in my opinion, so he needs to make do with what he has and try to improve those qualities. Something he has continued to do, very effectively, IMO, since his introduction to the team. Taylor: Whilst I appreciate it is all about opinions, I cannot agree your point about Matty, unless it has been made on one game? He has a fantastic scoring record (1 every 2 games) but even when he is not scoring he is frequently involved in moves to set up goals.

Leads was great but wish he'd just run into box than push ball to corner. His pace is electric and puts fear of God into defenders. Hence pen on sat.

Don't get me wrong, Lockyer has come on to what I think will be one of our most expensive home grown (from an extent) players! The boy reads the game very well and a lot of the time, that is to a CB's advantage! But the higher up the he goes the quicker and stronger strikers are! A good player but still only a young lad! Taylor is probably my favourite Striker for the gas since Roberts, I enjoy watching him at times but others he drives me insane, just look at the Dagenhem game, the man literally drove me to tears ! But I guess that's why I love him so much, he typifies everything rovers! Apart from the fact he's an Oxford fan !

Nevertheless it's still a valid opinion. Yes, of course, opinions are opinions, as I stated quite clearly! But my first point is not about opinions, it is about facts. The second point may be open to discussion but for someone to have scored at a ratio of a goal every 2 games would suggest that an opinion that said player should score more is rather unrealistic. To expect a player to score every chance he gets is pie in the sky (IMO). To have a ratio of 2 in 1 is fantastic (IMO) All opinions in this post are subject to IMO

7 of our starting line up tonight played for ius in the conference. What a tremendous achievement that they have taken us to 5th in league 1 in less than two years! It is an amazing statistic esp through the spine of the side, 3 defenders, central 2 midfielders and starting 2 up front. Sign of a good manager is how he makes his players better players. Eddie Howe has done it with Bournemouth and DC is doing it with us. Mourinho cant do that, he just goes out and buys a £20m player and then picks an argument with them! UTG!

Just got back to Dorset. Well done everyone. Good game to watch. Once Rovers realised that they didn't need to lump it up but pass it through midfield given the time I was confident we would win. I understand why DC rotates but when Rory G came on whenever it was a ball up to him he chested it down, kept control usually and played a good pass. Ellis tended to flick it on if he won it and on this occasion was less effective. But it was a great all action match. After his howler right at the start I thought Jake S-C was great. His composure on and off the ball and his passing ability is unusual at this level. To play so well after such an important error will be a big learning step for him I would think. Good attitude and character. UTG!

Outplayed another team again tonight and got what we deserved,1 negative is ellis and don't know how he gets the nod in front of gaffney yet not so long ago people were saying "why bring on gaffney for harrison,it ruined or chance of winning" chelsea away thing is rory was struggling for form earlier this season while ellis was looking good, now its turned around. i think dc picked ellis because he felt he would be fresher after gaff run his nuts off saturday but as we all saw ellis struggled but shouldnt we all be encouraging him to come back to form just like rory has?

Apparently the scum are taking the p**s out of our crowd tonight. Obviously we are not as good as them because they are brilliant in every way but who would have ever thought we could get a crowd of over 10,000 against a team like Fleetwood. How many did they bring anyone know? City had 11,654 when they played Fleetwood and went top of League 1, so not a massive difference.
