This new player, Matthew Taylor-Pen, seems to be doing well

if someone gives their opinion on something that they thinks not right when we're losing and then we go on to win it doesn't mean they haven't got a clue or that they're an idiot. I'm delighted that we won tonight and yes I do understand football and yes I'm well aware that generally speaking our best results under DC have come when we've played 4-4-2. DC had to make 3 changes before we got back in to it tonight , does that mean he's clueless or an idiot because he got it wrong at first ? No. It's a forum for people to express they're opinions on the game and on our club. I've said it before and I'll say it again DC is the best thing to happen to our club in my life time but that doesn't mean everybody is going to be happy all the time life's not like that at any club. When your side goes the first goal down constantly you look for reasons why just the same as the manager does. It sounded like we were very much in it from after 10 minutes. Making substitutions and tactical switches I'd the managers job. People on here pointing fingers and questioning everything just because we go a goal behind are reflective of the people who Boo at HT. It's tedious. I've never booed Rovers at half time or at the end of a match or during a match. If someone questions something it doesn't mean they question everything and it doesn't mean they're pointing fingers. It's a football forum for football debate.

DC sometimes frustrates the hell out of me but you can't argue against results. I would have taken our current position at this time when the season began. We are beginning to see how good this league is having played a good mix of teams and the reality seems to be it isn't much better than league two. A win on saturday could really push us up the table but that could start to create what are probably unrealistic expectations, for this season anyway.

Post from the Swindon forum:
I don't think we have the worst players individually.
But teams know exactly how we are going to play. And what they have to do to stop us playing.
Look at Bristol Rovers last night; usually play 442 but changed last night to 433. When do we ever adapt or do anything different?

It must be difficult for opposing teams scouts too build a scout report on Bristol rovers tactics. He bamboozles us every game.

If DC got his starting line-up and tactics right from the off we really would be cooking!
The good thing is he knows how to put things right and isn't afraid to do it early
That said the opposition have let us off the hook a bit recently so you could say on another day we would be out of sight.

We won the game 2 1 yesterday, and pretty much dominated the match....so I would say DC got things spot on. People have to bear in mind there are two teams and two managers in the equation, so it is not just as simple as what team/tactics DC employs, it also depends on how the other team play against that. I find it incredible that on here people go into melt down if we go a goal down, particularly if we are not playing the good old 4 4 2. We now have a squad who can play in different formations, and DC is learning when best to employ these formations and which player best fits which role......we have a good squad, and cover in all positions, we are mid table and unbeaten for 5 league games, and still some are so quick to vent their displeasure because a team has dared score against us and shock horror we are not playing a 4 4 2!

Chill out folk, we're all Gasheads but that's where the similarities end, we're all completely different individuals other than that ..... Thank goodness. 😀

Like I keep saying , questioning dc's tactics, formation, and team selection doesn't mean people are going into melt down or abusing him , or slagging him off , or booing the team or meaning fans don't know nothing about football, it's called asking a question on a forum , if that's embarrassing then some people are easily embarrassed. This isn't aimed at anyone in particular so please don't take it the wrong way , it's just my opinion.

Know what you're saying, but I would have gladly paid twice for that result Agreed. Cost me £50 to watch the two games, but wouldn`t have missed last night for the world. Very encouraging performance, and the two goals in such rapid succession was my favourite sixty seconds of the year so far. Apart from the dream I had about Halle Berry. Heh heh.......you....Halle Berry........sixty seconds....heh heh.......

This thread very much reminds me of the Hartlepool away game last season,4 or 5 changes to the starting 11,formation being questioned and Ollie Clarke back in the side! At least nobody asked where do we go from here if we don't get a positive result! Very important 3pts last night with some more difficult looking games looming, but we seem to be making a remarkably similar start to last season and the self belief in this squad is still so so strong, who knows,we could be challenging at the right end of the table once again before too long.
