The biggest compliment was chelsea bringing on Oscar ,hazard and Terry it really highlighted how uncomfortable they were at 3-2 .

What was "accidental" about a shoulder charge though, seemed to me he deliberately took Sincs out to stop him scoring.

Our fans were amazing tonight. I was at the other end of the ground and the wall of noise was spectacular. Chelsea were good aswell when they sang up but to see the whole contingent in unison was fantastic!

what a great night 39,000+ easily the biggest crowd of the night a cracking atmosphere, incredible away support amazing. in the game 1st half a torrid time for us could easily have been 5-1 at half time, 2nd half, great fight back and some great attacking football for 25 minutes forced a very strong chelsea team onto the defensive and they brought on oscar hazard and terry to shore things up. we never stopped trying to pass the ball even late in the game when we looked tired on a very hot evening. best players on the night imo mildenhall hartley lockyer sinclair lines and harrison with the half time subs easter and taylor giving us more than bodin and james were able too.

Only game I refereed recently was my son's under 13's and I wasn't aware of the new rule. Not that I had an opportunity to use it. A bit like offside. What's a player doing on the pitch if he's not interfering with play?

Even the BBC commentary text updates suggested it should have been a red so even they didn't know! In fact I'm pretty sure it was the BBC where I first read about this rule change a couple of weeks ago!

Plus we get 45% of gate revenue. A crowd of just under 40000 at an average ticket cost of £20 makes around £800;000. What do people expect us to clear?? I'm rather tempted to say 'you do the Math'

First 20 mins of second half we were immense. Think DC's plan was to go in at half time drawing or only one down then hit them second half. We lost our way after gaffney came on, hope we start with the second half line up on Saturday. Easter has to start in midfield for me, best player of the season.

I felt sorry for Gaffney as he was making the runs, but not once did we hit it long to him, even near the end. Bringing him on was the one mistake in hindsight. Can't complain though.

In fact I'm pretty sure it was the BBC where I first read about this rule change a couple of weeks ago! Just to be a pedant there are no rules in football, they are laws. it has to be an act of violent conduct to get a red card. The referee had decided that a penalty and yellow card was adequate punishment for the offence. Jermaine Easter was probably booked for his reaction to the official more than the offence he commited, another law change with regards to dissent. All in all a great night out in the company of a great crowd, the players and staff of the club let no one down and I look forwards to Saturdays trip to swindle.

All in all a great night out in the company of a great crowd, the players and staff of the club let no one down and I look forwards to Saturdays trip to swindle. Just to be pedantic, there are 7 offences that are punished with a red card:
SENDING-OFF OFFENCES
- A player, substitute or substituted player who commits any of the following offences is sent off: denying the opposing team a goal or an obvious goal-scoring opportunity by deliberately handling the ball (except a goalkeeper within their penalty area) - denying an obvious goal-scoring opportunity to an opponent moving towards the opponents’ goal by an offence punishable by a free kick (unless as outlined below) - serious foul play - spitting at an opponent or any other person - violent conduct - using offensive, insulting or abusive language and/or gestures - receiving a second caution in the same match - A player, substitute or substituted player who has been sent off must leave the vicinity of the field of play and the technical area.
DENYING A GOAL OR AN OBVIOUS GOAL-SCORING OPPORTUNITY
Where a player denies the opposing team a goal or an obvious goal-scoring opportunity by a deliberate handball offence the player is sent off wherever the offence occurs.
Where a player commits an offence against an opponent within their own penalty area which denies an opponent an obvious goal-scoring opportunity and the referee awards a penalty kick, the offending player is cautioned unless: - The offence is holding, pulling or pushing or - The offending player does not attempt to play the ball or there is no possibility for the player making the challenge to play the ball or - The offence is one which is punishable by a red card wherever it occurs on the field of play (e.g. serious foul play, violent conduct etc.) In all the above circumstances the player is sent off.
The following must be considered: - distance between the offence and the goal - general direction of the play - likelihood of keeping or gaining control of the ball - location and number of defenders

As I understand it, the penalty last night was for a push, so Pedro should have been sent off.

That's what really struck me - we kept on playing football & didn't resort to goofball. Really proud of the players, management & fans. The result didn't really matter to me.
