I don't mind being wrong. I've fully backed the people who broke this news and totally believed they were right but since the breaking news I've heard nothing. I still believe they were legit at the time and its good to see you and Jon are still positive. Some people still believe there's a God after 1000's of years And even less evidence!

As others have said the appeal is next month, do you really think anything would happen before then?? Either party would be stupid trying to force it through before then. If the rumours are true, expect to hear something around February. If we win or lose will effect the price and what will happen, hopefully both parties have plans to resolve it either way, what ever the outcome. If we win and Sainsburys appeal could be the worse case, as how long will that take? Club wouldn't sell cheap then, but investors wouldn't pay over the odds with an appeal hanging over the project.

I am a believer in the takeover rumours, and I think - as most do - that this will all conclude in the next few months.
I'm not 100% sure I want it to happen though. I'm really enjoying my Rovers at the moment. It feels great to be a gashead.
In the last year I've seen us win many more than we lost and get promoted back to the football league. I've had a fantastic day out to Wembley with my daughter - one that will always live in our memories - and now we are proving to be real contenders for promotion to league 1.
All of this with barely a pot to pi$$ in.
When I think back, we've never had any money. Yet we've acheived great things in the face of adversity. None more so than the Div 3 Championship a couple of years after losing our spiritual home at Eastville.
When I watch the football league show, I see many lovely stadia - but with nobody in them! What souless places these must be to watch football. I wouldn't want that for my Rovers, but I fear that is what 6000-7000 (our usual attendances) would be like in a 24000 all-seater.
Then I look south of the river. They have - seemingly - everything we aspire to have. Money, big stadium, Championship football.
However, one look on otib.co.uk and you realise none of that makes you happy. They are all miserable about the current position of their club. Their owner - quite rightly in my opinion - wont do what is necessary to be successful at that level.
Because how many clubs have bet the family jewels on success and yet flounder in debt around the bottom leagues?
Our club has soul. We can be very proud of it's history - and everything that's been achieved with very little. I fear we would lose our soul should we "sell out". It would in no way mean we'd be successful, and it certainly wouldn't guarantee we'd be happy.

Do you also still believe in Father Christmas as there's as about as much evidence of him existing as the consortium existing at present? Whilst JTS & Gasincider have clearly been told a consortium exists unless they have actually personally met them then how do they know they exist. I just find it hard to believe that after all these months nobody form the consortium has been identified/spoken to the press. Whilst the romantics amongst us would like us to carry on as we are at the mem etc, some point the circa £10m debt has to be paid off and we have to stop being a loss making club, or at least become one where our losses are under control. As far as new staduims being souless I didn't get the impression Leicester's was last night!!

You generally earn respect like that through being honest and trustworthy. Also, in this thread gaschat.co.uk/thread/5172/brsc-agm severncider had an informal chat with NH where he admitted to being in "advanced" talks with investors. I feel your frustration at all this, but as has been mentioned before - these things take time. Sit back, relax, and let things take their course. As for the Leicester/Man City game - a top of the table Premiership game is never going to be souless. But Leicester there are an exception - and I would also ask how long they can sustain their position? For every Leicester there are several Bolton/Blackpool/Wigan/Portsmouth etc etc.

I have lost any confidence at all that anything is happening, and as the court case approaches, i get more worried that a big loss there & having to pay sainsburys fees could mean administration for the club I love.

I thought the best we got was NH had been in talks but nothing was going to be discussed until the Appeal had been heard, how can that be "advanced" talks? Regardless it's still only 3 posters apparently ITK and for all we know somebody within the club could be leading them down the garden path for some unknown reason. Personally after decades of watching Rovers struggle I do find it hard to believe somebody is going to hand over £40/50m to the club and that the news had just been leaked to 3 just fans/forum users, something doesn't add up.

I still think the 'leak' was either to undermine the existing regime, or being more generous, to try & put pressure on them to negotiate a cheaper deal for the alleged interested parties.

At the moment I am just glad we have DC, but we will always be in the bottom leagues unless we get a new ground. At the very least everyone should be under cover in this day and age

I just hope when the appeal is finished whatever the result we can move forward and either move or improve because I am sure if the club off-field cannot match DC's ambition on it he will move on much like Francis did.
