Puddy 4 not a save to make,not sure if he was at fault for their goal but it looked like it from the other end
Lockyer 5 not at his best defensively and nothing going forward
Parkes 6 ok for the most part
McChrystal 5 ok bit slow at times
Brown 6 tried hard but should of helped close down the cross from the player who took the corner when the ball went straight back to him
Mansell 5 huffed and puffed
Lines 5 spent a lot of time watching the ball fly over his head
Monkhouse 5 good header back across the box for Ellis to score
Taylor 3 can't think of anything he did of note,not his sort of game
Blisset 4 tried but ineffective
Harrison 6 worked hard,took our only real chance,why take off our best striker on the day
Subs Balanta 3 why take off Ellis for him,he did nothing but miscontrol the ball
DC 4 won't say how I am feeling about him now,i'll wait till I have calmed down

Puddy 5 failed to deal with the cross for the goal, only one throw out to our own man rest were hopeful punts Dover were comfortable with
Lockyer 6 kept their left side quiet but in a formation with no natural width it is up to the full backs to generate some and stretch the play and that did not happen down the right.
McChrystal 5 their no 10 ran past him a lot and made Macca look pedestrian, not as commanding with his clearances as we've come to expect
Parkes 6 solid game defensively and helped Browner with constructing some left wing opportunities
Monkhouse 5 ball was in the air a lot so his height was useful managed to put his foot on the ball once or twice but treated it like a hot potato mostly.
Mansell 5 worked hard to win the ball then immediately gave possession away again. Hesitant with a couple of shooting opportunities he'd have not thought twice about on another day
Lines 7 MOTM looked a proper footballer on a dry surface, couple of decent runs, got some good crosses in.
Taylor 4 hoofball is not his game, wasn't strong enough to use what little possession he did get. All three forwards got caught offside when they tried to work the ball between themselves
Harrison 6 took the goal well , ball bounced off him a lot, miscued some other opportunities to use the ball
Blissett 5 it was his header across for Ellis's goal and Bliss was a handful for their defenders to deal with but it was a hit and miss performance with more miss than hit.
Balanta not on long enough to rate but it was not shaping up to be a good one!
Clarke 4 ten goals and three wins suggests a style of play the team are comfortable with and is a threat to any opposition. So to dispense with that formation and sacrifice wide creativity was an odd choice. Too much picking the team for the opposition and not enough picking the team to capitalise on our own strengths. The fact that it nearly worked for 88 minutes is irrelevant, ultimately it didn't because our line up wasn't aggressive enough to get more than one goal ahead.

Puddy 4 Vital mistake cost us.
Lockyer 5 - Fairly sound defensively but offers nothing going forward
McChrystal 6 - Yes, he got outpaced at times but I have learnt to accept him for what he is. No nonsense defender who is good in the air and makes some good challenges
Parkes 6 - Did ok, comes forward more often I have noticed, god knows why he took that free kick though.
Brown 6 - Normal solid self and come forward several times.
Lines 6 - Couple of good runs, spent most of the game watching the ball fly over his head.
Mansell 5.5 - Effort high as usual but had little impact on the game.
Monkhouse 5 - Poor by his standards
Taylor 4 - Worst game I have seen from him in a Rovers shirt, very ineffective and too powderpuff.
Blissett 5 - Set up the goal but needs to win more in the air for a big man. Also had a good opportunity in the first half but lost control of the ball
Harrison 6 - The best of the 3 strikers. Causes defence problems with his pace and would have kept him on over Taylor personally.
Subs: Balanta 4 - No impact on the game, would have brought any of the others subs on bar Mildy, surely won't be here next season.
DC 4.5 - Didn't seem to get the best out of his team, we didn't deserve to win and replacing Balanta for Harrison seemed a strange decision for me.
Ref 5 - Another poor ref, one challenge in particular by Blissett where he won the ball and they won a free kick. Too many soft decisions/
Dover 5 - Long ball outfit, as poor as us.

Lockyer- 6 had no midfield cover due to the formation but generally won his battles
McChrystal- 5.5 defensively did ok but his lack of pace was exploited on more than one occasion, looked indecisive at times
Parkes- 6 solid enough, won most aerial battles and provided support for brown where he could
Brown- 6 needed a winger to work with going forward, outfought by the Dover winger on many occasions but can't fault the effort
Lines- 6.5 showed glimpses of his class but far too often his first time balls were wayward, wasteful from a few set pieces other than the goal
Mansell- 7 didn't shine with the ball but he was everywhere and trying to get us going, snatched at his big chance early in the second half
Monkhouse- 5.5 largely anonymous, doesn't fit well in a 3 man midfield
Taylor - 6 can't fault effort but lacks composure, had 2/3 complete mid kicks early on but ran the channels constantly
Blissett 3- his assist for the goal is the only reason he doesn't get a 0/1, lacks pace, strength and aerial ability. i don't want to single people out, but the general consensus around me was that we couldn't understand why he remained on the pitch for the full 90
Harrison: 8 MOTM another goal and more signs that Ellis is working for the team. Tireless work ethic shown by him tracking a player from our attacking corner all the way back into our own box and successfully winning the ball.
Subs: Balanta- 3 had one difficult chance at the death that he just couldn't react to quick enough.
DC- 5 I can't understand why we left the successful 4-4-2 behind. Getting to HT at level pegging was clearly the objective and was successful but once we were ahead there was none of the usual tactical nouse, which should have seen us over the line. Staying in a 4-3-3 when we were getting bombarded was naive IMO, we should have packed the defence/ midfield
Ref- 4 whistle happy
Dover- 5 offered nothing but sheer determination, there wingers were decent and the set pieces were well worked as you'd expect

Taylor was nowhere near a 6 yesterday and surely Blissett deserves more than a 3 for his assist alone, I would have kept Blissett on as he is useful for coming back defending a lead, it was Taylor who should have been subbed yesterday. |

Sorry, Browner gets a six from me - he deserved a point more than Lockyer for being better offensively but his slow closing down of the crosser for their equaliser took it away again! |

Each to their own. For me, taylor puts in a shift without the ball, he forces errors through his sheer work rate, runs the channels and holds the ball up, even better in the air than blisset. IMO, blissett offered nothing other than the assist, which maybe partly down to him being on the right of a front 3... I imagine that a significant number of fans would agree that Blissett was probably one of the worst performers in the day. Results complete and Ellis Harrison is Man of the Match for the third game in a row.
He is the third player to acheive a hat-trick of MotMs this season after Trotman (Dartford, Aldershot, FGR) and Parkes (Torquay, Nuneaton, Woking).
It was however the lowest score for any MotM in a game that didn't end in defeat. All of the league defeats MotMs had lower scores (Taylor 6.0 Barnet, Mildenhall 6.3 Altrincham & 6.2 Braintree, Trotman 6.2 FGR, Leadbitter 5.5 Eastleigh). The previous lowest score for a non-defeat was the 6.7 for Martin in the home win against Telford.
