That's a stupid attitude Rich when they have probably the highest budget in this league, plus players like Constable, Stanley & Pell will see this has their cup final. Next week will probably be our toughest remaining home league game of the season and possibly the toughest game we've got left. Beat Eastleigh next week and we'll be odds on to go up unless the players let nerves get to them. It's s few has beens for sure. Can Stanley cope with our pace. Unlikely! We are at home. Probably our biggest gate of the season. We are the form team. I think many on the bus will think we can win next week and go on to win this league. Bring it on. Have I missed something but when did our midfield duo of Mansell & Lockyer develop pace? I think your becoming deluded if you think next week's game is going to be easy.

Dawson put in a good shift today. Why doesn't a talent like that start games for us ? Am I the only one mystified by this ? Exciting wingers are what pull people to watch matches and I dearly hope he starts next Sat - It's my boy's 8 birthday and I'm taking him and a few of his mates to the game high up in Dribuld Stand so great view - really want them to see him in action (I'm sure they'll love watching him - they are all pretty talented players themselves. There might be a problem. I think Dawson's second loan period has finished so unless he signs for a third and final month I think you (and me) will be disappointed

Why "think" it took me 5 seconds to check and see he first joined us on the 13 January, so he's definitely here next week.

Cool thanks for the info. If I was on my PC rather than the phone I would probably have checked. Thanks again....

There is a tremendous difference between being positive and being arrogant. All good teams and good players need a touch of arrogance, in my opinion, but they need to rein it in sometimes. The fact that Eastleigh is a small village is nothing whatsoever to do with their football prowess. Look at Burnley: If the size of the city/town/village counted for anything they would be in the lower leagues. Likewise the attitude that they have has-beens in their team is over the top. There are some Rovers supporters who would still like to see Jamie Cureton back: He is also considered a has been by many, yet he is still knocking them in for Dagenham. Yesterday, two of Eastleigh's "has-beens" scored goals in their 4-0 win against Macclesfield. The same result as we got against Macclesfield, but it could be argued that Eastleigh's was a better win because the Maccs were on a good run of form leading into yesterday's game.
Of course many Rovers supporters, me included, will think we can win next week, many, such as you it seems, will expect it. After 53 years of supporting Rovers, I expect the unexpected and take nothing for granted.
I agree with much of the above. Maybe times are changing. We can look back and be angry about our past or we can look forward to the opportunities the we can all see ahead. The best players and the best teams have arrogance and confidence in equal measures. We are Bristol Rovers with a belief that we can win football matches not by under estimating our opposition but by concentrating on our strengths. We are on our way to being champions. Champions who make choices based on hope not fear. Our dark days are behind us. No need to doubt. This is our time. Our time for being hopeful. Potential champions fear no one! No but we need to respect other teams, nobody fears Eastleigh but this is looking a tough test not a walk in the park. Although FGR could well be an even bigger test for Barnet next week.

I think your becoming deluded if you think next week's game is going to be easy. I don't think any of our games, including next week, will be easy. We are too professional for that. We are the premier team in this league. The team everyone will want to beat. As it happens we seem to be riding the waves very well right now and winning the games that matter. Next week matters! Just maybe this team can put all our fears behind us and seek the opportunities ahead of us.

That's not really the point though is it? The point I'm making is that they've been incredibly fortunate that so many players have made such poor challenges/hand balls et all against them. I think they've been incredibly fortunate this season - far more so than any other team in the division. That doesn't make me/us arrogant or deluded. It's a fact that they've had more players sent off against them (i.e. have received a man advantage) than any other team this season - and by some distance. In my book, that makes them fortunate. thank god you'll never b our manager. Everything must be fortune i guess. Nothing to do with skill , training, tactics, pace, strength etc. Akinde is, sadly for us, easily not only the biggest scorer in our div but probably also the most difficult player to face. No luck. No fortune. No spawn. Lesser players foul / haul down better players, and / or put themselves in a bad position / make poor decisions. That is what football is. You might as well get used to it as it isn't going to ever change at any level. Where have I said it's nothing to do with skill? All I've said is that they've also been the most fortunate side in our division IMO. Not sure what's so hard to grasp about that, but clearly you're struggling. As such, I suggest we leave it there.

How many times have you seen us this season Rich? The last thing Craig Stanley will worry about in our midfield is our pace! Yep, I'll be amazed if it isn't another tight game. Hopefully there'll be a winner and that it will be us ! I really hope that we try and take the game to them from the off - Eastleigh have conceded a lot of goals this season for a top 6 side !!

Throw everything at them and we might find we are 2-0 down at half-time. We don't score many, Eastleigh have conceded a lot of goals, but are second only to Barnet in goals scored, and they have a better goal difference than us. Better maybe to hold off their rampant attack and get our inevitable 1-0 win than risk a defeat. Might sound a bit dull, but no-one will care about that too much if we beat them. Lose 3-2 and the hounds will be snapping at his ankles.
