Two clubs with multiple teams in their city bottom. I don't think anyone was expecting that.

Surely Leyton Orient with a smaller gate and a bigger population should be below.

Thanks for posting this.
Interesting perhaps but ultimately it doesn’t really show anything. All are one-club towns or cities save for us, Birmingham, Orient and Charlton. And even those one-club towns may be close to other clubs like the Lancashire, Manchester and South Yorkshire clubs. I wonder how they calculate the % for Orient, Charlton and Birmingham. Is it the % of the Borough the ground is in, because I don’t believe Orients attendance is 2.64% of London nor Birmingham’s is 2.34% of Birmingham?
Still, I’m sure some will climb on it to bash us even more!
Ultimately each club will have its individual circumstances that decide why people go/ don’t go to see their local clubs. Which makes up the greater part of all forums I suppose.
UTG!

Was just thinking the same!
Back of a fag packet maths if London has a population of 10 million would equate to Charlton having an average attendance of 540,000? Orient support is terrible only averaging 264,000!

Going by those figures I make it City’s share would be approximately 5%, so in total between the 2 clubs it appears that less than 7% of the local population attends the 2 clubs football matches, which when people say either the Blue half or the red half of Bristol, they are way off the mark.

What are the figures? Are we talking city, conurbation or wider region?

Thought this FanHub was meant to be run by a Rovers fan? Manipulating the figures to put us bottom on top of putting that horrible red blob on our kits, FanHub can do one as far as I'm concerned, won't be long I'm sure.

Those of us of a certain age recall a publication called ,'Charles Buchan's Football Monthly. They claimed in a similar study that Aldershot-then in the league - attracted the largest crowds in relation to the size of their population.

Full of intelligent analysis and reports, and not just asking George Best what his favourite food was. It was perhaps a bit sombre though. The writing was on the wall when the dumbed down Shoot! magazine came out with all its pretentious colour photos and lively writing style.. Bah!

Does seem a bit clickbaity (like all ranking posts) without showing the maths behind it.

I don't think my family knew what pasta was until the early 80s. Lasagne, it was at least 85 or 86 before it was discovered in our house.

The snap shot reflects something we are already aware of, the football is not great, the infrastructure is terrible, and the club has become disconnected with its support, all have contributed to why Taylors team has lost over 2,000 head count since the first game of the season; the ray of sunlight is BRFC do have a very large latent support, which as when the team start to do well, will come back in their numbers.

Whatever way you look at it . If you put all 92 clubs into a computer we come out about 19th in the old division 3 on average attendances. If crowds continue to drop then Donny & Carlisle will go above us and we will drop to 21st .
For some reason as stated we lost 2k fans a match . And even against historically big clubs like Charlton & Reading our crowds have been poor in the last 6 months .
I suppose the only way you can get crowds back is by winning games. The club could boost attendances by being flexible when the BIG away clubs come . It's a bit miserable thinking to have 1400 bolton brum reading wrexham hudd fans squeezed in a corner and half of the ground is empty !.

Out support is pathetic. I think it’s the incredibly negative atmosphere around the club. Fans can only take a lack of success for so long. We never seem capable of challenging league 1, so I’m sure most people just think why bother? Couple that with the singing section being destroyed by a mixture of bans, songs being banned, terrible food, a lack of passion from the manager. Constant injury crisis (why is it just us) Fans stirring up stories which divides the fan base….And of course cost of living. I appreciate every team is dealing with that last one…BUT….when there’s such a lack of passion for this club many people will just think it’s not worth the money. I don’t think I’ve really cared since Darrell left. Elliot Anderson was worth the entry fee alone under Barton but apart from that I can’t remember feeling happy or excited.
