My negative on today is rotating the two older injury prone CDM’s Lindsay and Ward next to another CDM Conteh. We only got to see the best of Hutch because it was forced on him, we’ve got a handbrake manager, he protects the defence first over attack. Did you watch the game? Our keeper was in their penalty area for the last 5 mins. Even got his head onto a corner that was well saved from Hunt(?). That's definately not hand brake. It’s like banging your head against a brick wall here?! Read the explanation and stats I’ve given you. *Not once away this season have we scored the first goal, we are set up handbrake. *Busiest keeper in Div1 with 4.1 big saves a game *Minus possession to opposition every game away *only take the handbrake off when we are losing and chasing the game. I’d much rather see our keeper in goal for the last 5 minutes helping us see a win out, he went up front at Posh as well. We are asking Griffthis to be the busiest keeper in the league and then play up front at the end of games as well, do I need to say anymore?! *5th worst defence in the league We are set up to defend and we are not very good at it!

We’d expect that at that point in the game, the fact that road man thought we were too defensive before the red / goal has me bewildered. If anything we looked too open in the first 60 minutes , not that I’m complaining it was the polar opposite of the Huddersfield game and I’d prefer we went for it like today than park the bus. Pleased with the formation and effort today. Gutted with Fords stupidity and the result. On to the next one. Up The Gas.

Happy to have a team that has given its supporters some encouragement for the rest of the season. It has been tough, and we have looked weak at the back most of the season. Let’s hope this is a giant step forward for the squad, club and its fans. One sour note for me is the carpet bombing poster putting a dampener on it all. We’re all desperate for positives, and today seems like a big one despite the defeat. UTG

4231 isn’t a defensive formation and we weren’t defensive today, we looked to take the game to reading , we played on the front foot and reading looked most dangerous on the counter as we were so attacking. That’s how I saw today anyway. I really do wonder how people see football so differently. I see the game simple, the 4 are defenders and the 2 in front of them are defensive minded with no legs. We are sitting 6 behind the ball, we let the opposition have the ball and we hope to counter attack and defend. 42% possession today, 42% at Udders, 38% Burton, 44% Posh, 43-% Barnsley, all away. We are not set up to attack and it’s based on counter attack, we don’t get numbers in the opposition box. I watch a lot of football, 5 of the England games in Germany in person, member at Arsenal, I think I understand the game. The good sides who play counter attack football, like Tottenham get numbers and legs forward into the box, we don’t. We say to the opposition, you can have the ball, we are going to defend against you having it. We are happy for our keeper to be the busiest in Div1 with 4.1 big saves a game, the issue is the manager can’t see we are not good at it?!?! The game I see backed up with stats. It’s sooo good to have you back to brighten up my evening, why don’t you ever have a good word to say about the Gas? I thought today was very positive and we were worth a point, but you obviously watched a different game to me. 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️ We are Rovers not Man City I’m afraid, faithful & true old boy.

He sets us up to counter attack and we are not good at this as well. Raúl missed the one chance on the counter. The difference is Posh and Udders took their chances as Burton did……we then chase the game which makes it end to ending. When do we go out from the start and win an away game? Can someone get us the Taylor away stats to end all this debate, how many away games has he won for us?

Big shout out to the fans today who stayed with the Team from start to finish. For me Mola MOM, stand out performances from Wilson and Hunt. Forde brain dead kicking the ball away for a pointless 2nd booking. IMO Promise o dear do not see why BRFC spent so much money on someone who cannot jump, run, control the ball or score many goals. Soitrou missed a sitter and should grow up and stop running straight down the tunnel when substituted. The team is generally not great, but should be good enough to finish at least top of the bottom six; unlikely to take many if any points off the top six trams. Although if Forde did not get himself sent off, Rovers would have probably got a point off Reading who in fairness have too very good forwards who will score goals as Smith proved today.

Hunt booked for a lunge 5 minutes after one of their blokes almost kicks Bilongo s head off and doesn't even get spoken to I think the guy, Bindon, was booked for that particular challenge. UTG!

I guess Roadman is hoping we perform for 90 mins like we did in the last 30 mins? It's really the same story every away game against a top 10 side, defend and create few chances for 60 or so mins, concede a goal or two, then go all out attack for 30 or so mins chasing the game and look by far the better side.

Bindon was booked for assault on Bilongo. That incident happened before Bilongo almost had his head kicked by another of the refs mates

Where is all this negativity getting us after a good performance? It’s a forum, is this North Korea or we can’t have an opinion? I try to back up my opinion, I take time to post, I like the debate with the likes of Yatton and Socrates I started the Reading build up thread by saying I hope we go there not just looking to setup defensively to scrape a draw as I thought we’d get picked off, I hoped we go there looking to get on the front foot. The game I watched , we did exactly that . We looked to attack when the opportunities came.

I think that says a lot about us as a club if you think 20 points out of 60 and a minus 15 goal difference doesn’t sound too bad.

Matt Taylor away wins, we’ve taken the lead in 4 of those winning games.
The driving instructor would say, we are not going forward because the handbrake is on to the student.
We are set up to defend and Nick wins away from home, today was another example. Would 11 men have stopped the goal? But we chased it as usual and ended well, its dejavu and the driving instructor is saying, you are going to fail unless you change tact.

Out of 60 points, we have taken 20 which is one in three points a game. Once your home form struggles, you are on relegation form.
