Your obsession with Hutchinson is strange, even MT thinks he's poor hence why he subbed him off at half time. Not sure one decent free kick makes his first performance satisfactory. Your obsession with LT is equally strange. Not sure one decent corner makes his performances satisfactory either? I made some general comments about the game overall and you’ve singled out one thing. I personally don’t think how we’re playing is helping him….i also said it wasn’t helping Thomas. I was being objective but that’s seemingly wasted on you. I also said I thought Sousa had done well yet he was taken off at ht also and it was perfectly ok for people to comment on that without you arguing the case against based on MT taking him off and I also said I felt a manager making subs at half time like that was a poor sign of desperation rather than anything else. Personally I don’t think Hutchinson deserves some of the criticism he’s had so far and the memory of Evans hasnt helped him. I’d like to know how Evans would’ve done in this side under Taylor….seeing as he only managed 3 goals in his last 24 games under Taylor one of which was a free kick. Maybe Taylor is part of the same problem? Who's obsessed with LT, I've previously posted he should have been subbed off last week as soon as he fell over with no opposing player anywhere near him, today he was again poor. For some reason he seems to have lost interest in performing. As far as Hutch he's just another Westbrook, hence why he has to play at the top of the diamond, problem for us is we've nobody like Finley and Rossiter to play behind him.

We changed to 4 at the back at half time but we're still no better, it's not the formation it's the person in charge and the personnel signed this summer. Hutch is sadly no replacement for Evo. I didn’t expect a panicked halftime switch to four at the back to be a miracle cure when the opposition already have a two goal advantage. If it was being worked on in training day in day out I’m sure it would give better results - both in terms of defensive shape and help us set up better to be more effective in attack. Whether MT is the right man to get the best out these players (his players) regardless of whether it’s a back five or back four remains to be seen. With a midfield of Conteh and Garrett it's never going to be a success, not really sure Lindsay added anything in the second half. It always seems the same at Rovers, lose a star striker or midfielder and we always struggle to replace them, worryingly relegation usually follows. With Moore now missing for 3 games and Hunt seemingly now out of favour, we've no RFB to play 4-4-2 anyway and have to rely on LT to play RWB.

I just feel it’s too soon to be judging a player based on what we remember a previous one was. Comparisons are rarely favourable for the new fella. Evans was a super footballer but it wasn’t all plain sailing. He took heck of a long time to adjust to life in league 1 and as I pointed out he really wasn’t that prolific in his output under Taylor. Maybe Taylor and how he sets up or instructs that type of player is an issue?

Getting gubbed at home like that was like having Barton back, I was hoping a new set of players and a new start over the summer would bring some change. My fear is that confidence is difficult to build but easy to erode. We need to go back to basics with the best players in their best positions. 4-2-3-1 with Thomas. Hutchison and Sinclair behind Promise. Taylor next to Wilson.
Plenty of managers have tried and failed with a back 3

2 out of our last 3 promotion seasons have started like this. We need to stay calm.

If Belshaw had put in a performance like Griffiths did yesterday he'd have been crucified on here.

The majority of clubs will have a heavy home defeat at some stage. It is plain to see this largely inexperienced squad will need time to gel, apart from setbacks and gaining confidence! As I have mentioned previously it will be around ten to twelve games before the team finally gel with consistent performances. UTG.

There's zero signs of it gelling, it's pointless to suggest something will get better in X games time without any signs of improvement, unless Ward can get himself fit and remain fit we don't have the players to gel. Once again we've got a mismatched squad, we've been calling out for a dominant CH for years and strong experienced CM's but have none in the squad. Added to that we've now no experienced full backs, unless MT settled his differences with Hunt and he also stays fit whilst at least Moore is suspended. We've followed the BG blue print in the summer and are now getting similar results. No idea why we only have JG as our 1st team goalie this season, there's no logic in that decision.

Wasn't it LT that chased back to make an intercept when they broke through and it was 2 onto 1? The same chasing he did all game, again. Once again it's the midfield that's the problem. Hutchinson & Conteh did nothing leaving the rest of the team to cover for them and make the plays themselves, making it pretty much 9 v 11. But, we can pull that performance to bits all day, long and short of it is the bad performance started with the keeper and went forward through the rest of the team. Fingers crossed that's just an early season scare that we can learn and push on from.

But LT did nothing going forward apart from his half hearted run towards goal at the start of the game. It's almost as if he's given up already.
As far as Sinclair apart from a short spell last season when he was probably trying to win a new contract he's done very little in a Rovers shirt, he's a total embarrassment given that he seems to still have the ability when he wants to.

Noticed Mr Hargraves in his Bristol Live post having a go at some fans for booing the players at halftime

Fingers crossed that's just an early season scare that we can learn and push on from. Don’t these two statements contradict each other? The second one is true surely? The problems are the entire team is reliant on each other and the team is disjointed and the set up doesnt seem to be getting the best or the most out of anyone. It’s so easy for people to just blame the midfield. It’s just a default setting for the layman. Out of possession yes we got pulled apart and they seemed to find too many gaps through the middle of the pitch, but you have to look deeper than just blaming that. It’s like having a poor water pressure and blaming the tap!! Midfield players are trying to find space in possession and recovery jt of possession. So if they try to support the forwards and the forwards are incapable of holding onto the ball or linking up play they will be caught in transition between trying to join in and being out of position when it breaks down and needing to recover. Same in respect of trying to start attacks. Just as a forward relies on service from his midfield players the midfield players rely on service from their defensive players. If defenders miss them out and they can’t get on the ball there’s a problem and this is definitely evident!!! Ultimately we looked all over the place because our units were too stretched. Midfielders came looking for the ball and were disconnected from the forwards and the defenders went long…..midfield players then try desperately to join in and support the forwards and the ball was given away boxes they had time to get there and they were then out of position to defend….. It’s a chicken and egg and all parts were to blame not just Conteh and Hutchinson!! This is where the 352 falls down. There are not enough attacking outlets to help the build up. If wing backs go high they aren’t part of the build and it ends up going long…if they stay deep there’s no support for the forward players or options to break a press for the CMs. Conversely if they go high and we lose the ball they’re miles out of position and if they stay deep they can’t press and it gives the CMs too much ground to cover!! It’s crap. I hate it. And to be honest the only players ive ever known to like it are CBs who aren’t very good cos they get cover for all their inadequacies.
