You have to be completely ignorant to examine the conflict in Ukraine and deduce that the Russian federation is trying to invade Europe. Note - not “Putin”. Classic manipulation tactic to personality an enemy, Goldberg style 2 minute hate coming next. You might be willlng to be manipulated into a war but I’m not. They will need conscription given all the fighting age men in this country have been brought up to believe their flag is shameful so they aren’t going to fight for it. Suddenly masculinity isn’t so toxic when they want your sons to go and die for corporate interests abroad. Russian people are not stupid, neither are their government and institutions. They are normal people, like us. They have their reasons for Ukraine which if any of you had deigned to read Wikipedia for an hour or two you’d understand quite quickly that this isn’t a war of conquest. It’s a reclaimation of territory, protection of its allied citizens and securing security for their Navy. Note that the RF’s wars have mostly been in its doorstep with neighbouring states and Europe/America have been fighting the worlds poorest people for control of their resources since the end of the Second World War, just after the US fried a load of women and children alive with atomic weapons to threaten the Soviet Union (basically). Be careful when deducing who the good guys and aggressors are bechase the media is pretty crafty. They did it with Iraq and they’re doing it right now. Bit ranty , what you trying to say ? 🙄😂 Gulf likes to get a few Ukraine-Russia things off his chest every now and again. He usually deletes the post afterwards but you've got in first. 😃

Only a projection. "The UK population is projected to grow to 73.7 million - including net international migration of 6.1 million - by mid-2036. The new Office for National Statistics (ONS) figures look at data over a 15-year period from mid-2021 - when the population was estimated to be 67 million. Over the period it is projected that 10.8 million people will be born, 10.3 million will die, 13.7 million will move to the UK long-term while 7.6 million people will emigrate. In just over two years, by mid-2026, the population is projected to reach 70 million, with the ONS suggesting it "mainly results from international migration". This growth is faster than what was projected this time last year based on figures from 2020. The number of people aged 85 and over is also set to increase by one million to 2.6 million by 2036. All the figures are projections, not predictions, because they are based on current and past trends. The projections in overall population size are based on an assumption that long-term net international migration, currently estimated at 315,000 per year, ends by mid-2028. The actual levels of future migration and population may be higher or lower, and will be "affected by policy changes as well as the impact of as yet unknown migrant behaviour patterns", the ONS said. The projections may also be revised when more data becomes available." news.sky.com/story/uk-population-set-to-grow-to-73-7-million-with-net-migration-of-over-six-million-people-by-2036-13059839

Did anyone see the Iceland boss saying that the Conservatives no longer share his small c conservative values and now backs Starmer?
Also Richard Tice was on the Jeremy Vine Channel 5 show today. Certain to stand candidates in all constituencies and gets daily calls from Conservative MPs to stand down.

It wasn't meant to be this way, for them anyway. Let's face it, they are not all going to be lawyers and doctors. Some of them will be unqualified and poor (quelle horreur) and will want to do things like cleaning the streets, picking fruit, cleaning hospitals and living next to us....

...anyone watching the Covid inquiry up in Scotland? Looks like as well as an impending criminal trial over SNP finances, Sturgeon has made several statements under oath that either means she lied previously *or* might also be up for contempt of court...weird how when it's not a Conservative there is far less coverage....

Left wing twitter bias !!!! 😮 It’s probably because she was in the dock later than Johnson , Hancock etc so it’s not as newsworthy. Scotland had their own rules to a degree so most of us weren’t affected by them . If you go on Scottish facebook accounts and X accounts maybe it’s more prevalent? Or maybe that 66% of the UK is sick to death of the Tories and they’d rather keep highlighting that 😃👍

The out-sourcing of Army recruitment to Capita has been a categoric DISASTER - this is why the Army can't recruit. It's not due to the lack of want of potential enlisters. That said, I'd love to see the Army/government try to enlist citizens via conscription should push come to shove. They would get a resounding 'lol no thanks' from the British public.

I was getting notifications on my phone and heard it repeatedly on 5Live yesterday? It's definitely not on the news like Boris was, even Sunak barely made the headlines. But thats understandable - shes PM of Scotland Vs the PM of the UK. When Starmer was found to be having a beer while working, we heard all about it everywhere. In fact, France still reminds us all about it every other day. Rather than a Tory conspiracy, I think you're confusing what people are actually interested in. Usually, the simplest answer tends to be the truth (Don't tell that to 79 though!)
