Not ambitious = just pust ends on current east and West stand, which is what Hussain AlSaeed said. Ambitious = knock it all down and build contemporary football stadium and facilities. Your "ambitious" plan is probably at least 3-5 times as expensive as the "not ambitious" one. Nice if we can afford it, but I doubt it will happen. I guess the question is do you spend £10M and get a bit of a pigs ear of a stadium or do you spend £25M and get Bells and whistles. The cheaper option maybe all we can afford but will the owners be wasting that money if our long term future is at the mem.

I've said it before, if the owners don't have what the club need to be brought forward why buy a football club? Has Wael sold the club to someone who also can't take the club forward. The stadium is the elephant in the room, the weak link, it NEEDS serious amount of work, not just patching up. I find it really difficult to understand why there are some on here that think a patch up job will do. I sort of get football is luck, we could have a good season in the Mem as it is and we've made it to the Championship, but it is not sustainable. I guess some people are just happy if we have that odd good season, a few cup matches...no aspirations to much else.

I don't see why the club couldn't go for 25/30k at the Mem to be honest. If they can come up with something that looks good, contemporary, not an absolute ikea looking eye sore, locals may well like idea of having a something shiny on their door step. Could have minimal light on non match days, wooden panels to make it natural looking on the outside. Lots of nice touches that would make it more appealing. I am hoping the owners are more ambitious than they have currently come across. The student flat led proposal was 18,500. Even if we allow for infilling in the corners where some of the flats were, we are unlikely to go very far past that. That proposal was right at the limit of what is acceptable in terms of loss of light to surrounding properties. The present site is too tightly constrained by housing to get much past 20,0000 and that is without taking transport and access issues into consideration.

I think all fans would prefer the bells and whistles option but, we have to accept the new owners plans, limitations or whatever reasons they have for not wanting to spend 25 million quid on the stadium. So, in summary, most of us will be happy with any improvements they give us and fingers crossed once the work is done, we can all appreciate them.

£25m wouldn’t be enough for a Proper Job.

£25m wouldn’t be enough for a Proper Job. I think we’ll be spending in that region to get a decent East and North stand alone.

You don't think after getting the South Stand started and actually interviewed saying the Mem will be redeveloped they're not coming across as being ambitious? Not ambitious = just pust ends on current east and West stand, which is what Hussain AlSaeed said. Ambitious = knock it all down and build contemporary football stadium and facilities. "Just"? You can make any statement regarding ambition when it's not your money. Some people need a reality check as to how much these things cost.

Looking at the annual deloitte report for 2022, only 4 teams made a pre tax profit. Only one team (West Brom) made an operating profit. You would hope that the new owners understand this, its the sad state of non Premier league football. Really have to ask the question of any owner in the football league the question of "Why do they do it?"

Not our money either when we buy players or pay them 5 grand a week. What we can afford personally has nothing to do with it. If you buy a league one football club with ambitions for the Championship then it's fair to say you should have the financial clout to deliver that. The only reality check we need is when comparing the multitude of clubs who have managed to build new stadiums or have developed their grounds in a way fit for their level.

Slight difference in having dreams of owning a Club that "might" get to the Championship if the Team is good enough and banging up a Stadium that'll cost 10's of Millions.

i think the other thing to note is the owners said something along the lines of we will need to look for financing for any new build. I guess this depends on what they mean by this. If this is a loan or they are looking for people to invest or sponsorship or a combination of all those. Whichever is the case you would have thought that the proposals would need to be attractive and maximise return on investment. This is why I think it is unlikely we'll get some half measure solution. Whatever happens though it will be better than what we have today which I am grateful for

With regard to the proposed development of the east stand and Thatchers end , although I’m sceptical on how good it will look I’m pleasantly surprised with what’s been done with the south stand. When we were told we’d get a temporary stand I expected something pretty naff …… and it’s actually ok 👌 Prepared to wait and see on the other parts .

Have to agree with him on that one, question is which reason is it our owners have bought Rovers?

Before talking about developing the East Stand, we the great unwashed will have to wait for the owners to mime their plan (if indeed they have one) as they are awful at providing very much by the way of any meaningful verbal communication

Before talking about developing the East Stand, we the great unwashed will have to wait for the owners to mime their plan (if indeed they have one) as they are awful at providing very much by the way of any meaningful verbal communication A little harsh that. They have come forward and outlined what the plan is. Confirmed that they won't engage in small talk and will only comment when something is ready to be delivered and within their control. A proper feasibility study of the potential for the site should take a few months - this is because they should be looking at not only what fits; for what cost; for what capacity, they will be able to look at the likely planning issues as well. This will not be wasted money as each option will have high level studies carried out - Environment, socioeconomic, light, sustainability, blah blah blah. I would be surprised to see any substantial moves on the rest of the ground before the summer of 2025. There may be some enabling works carried out that don't affect capacity and safety for the fans etc. I know its said often but, it really is a case now of less haste and more speed.

I think its a case of cost for a rebuild or the cost of a new stadium will determines what will get built

What does it not being my money have to do with it. I didn't buy a football club. If it going cost 10s Millions to build a stadium, then thats what its going to cost.
