Hoping pirate can help me out here. This young man was voted best goalkeeper at a tournament, I thought it was u17 but may be wrong. I will admit that this years transfer policy seems to be a bit strange. We have a non league bloke on trial, a Portuguese guy and ssshh the bloke from Everton. Then the rumour of Marquis might be leaving. Looks like higher paid players leaving, cheaper younger ones coming in but maybe a shock signing, just fingers crossed our prized asset is not paying for all of this. Not sure I agree. Brown, Wilson, Friend, Ward and Thomas will all be on decent wages. Hardly youngsters. Aways going to be a balance of both. Hope Joey gets it right and we are challenging come Christmas. Agree with you both but goalkeeper and defence from Brentford would save money. It’s a gamble but just the fact we played their b team makes me think we have been looking for a while. |

It’s a gamble but just the fact we played their b team makes me think we have been looking for a while. we are playing the waiting game for Connor Taylor I’d imagine.So I think this is a backup just in case we can’t get him and I’d imagine there be another Centre back signed as well after the Brentford Cb if we can’t add Taylor as well maybe That kid from Celtic. |

Save money on where when last season we had Balcombe on loan from Brentford and Gibson on loan from Everton, now we have two players on loan from Brentford? Given we were trying to sign Alfie May I doubt JB's been told to cut the playing budget. |

I hope belly is up for the fight and the two of them drive better performances. Yes a youngster a risk but could work. Belly will either compete or I guess will look for a move in January. Won the 2022 UEFA European Under-19 Championship and was named in the Team of the Tournament.

Tristan Crama is the centre back according to the Brentford forum. Recently signed a two year contract for them after playing first team football in France. Cox's name was mentioned by a 'reliable source' and appears to be happening! Crama's name just seems to be an assumption as the Brentford defender. As mentioned would prefer it to be Sorensen. He is behind Pinnock and Mee as LCB and is likely to go out on loan. Was part of a very poor Groningen team that got relegated from the Eredivisie. Maybe that was a step too far and League 1 might be good for him and us! |

With extra evidence of him not being on their tour then it's most likely him. I'm hoping Plymouth sign a few more CB and we can loan Gibson from them as even with Crama we need at least one more CB! |

This looks like it's a done deal so is that the end of Belshaw as I can't see Brentford allowing him to come here and sit on the bench for the majority of the season.
For me I hope it is as we need to move on and with Belshaw still around there will be fans who won't give the new guy a fair crack of the whip and as stated before I don't believe he is good enough to take us towards the playoffs.

If Cox cements his place as undisputed number 1 then Belshaw can seek a new club in January (if he wishes) provided Ward can be recalled from any loan and has done well at a higher level than where he played last year. |

I have no issues with Belshaw staying and fighting for the number 1 spot if the fans cut out the nonsense we saw last season. I just don't think it will happen and the new keeper will be pounced on for any minor mistake. |

Obviously ahead of Balcombe in the pecking order Balcombe had, and still has, more league experience, it's a big move from Premiership B football to league football. Nobody really knows if Cox can make the step up, if he can't then we're still stuck with Belshaw conceding cheap goals until at least January. Question is when does he make his debut, as the first few games don't look like games where we should be starting with a rookie goalie? |
