The point was that after our discussion which clearly the mods haven't decided to do anything about.. I had a browse at other football forums to see if I was out of touch or if this forum was at odds. None of the forums I looked at had this daft 'misinformation' nonsense warning pinned on their pages. Not only are we out of date, but oddly it now appears that what was 'misinformation' was actually good information and completely acceptable dialogue.(Source:many experts and medical professionals who were silenced) Sadly, people are suffering out here due to negligence/incompetence/playing lottery with info. This part is awful and infuriating for me. Ultimately, I don't really care much what the forum does, but as its public, plus I look at it occasionally...and I am quite interested in the C19 debacle, I posted my thoughts. As for not football related. There are plenty of topics on the main page that fit that category. Cheers. I feel I should admit, as one who supported the standard rules at the beginning, that I've changed my mind to a large extent about the whole COVID situation and how it was handled. I now think we went too far, unnecessarily, damaged the economy, encroached on certain human rights which can now be more easily stepped on again, and put too much faith in the vaccines. This is based on talking to those who have and haven't been vaccinated, nurses I know personally working in COVID wards and in post operative recovery, reading articles about the way it was done in Sweden, and a general feeling that we overreacted. Sympathies to anyone who has lost someone directly or indirectly through COVID, and I know they won't see it as I now do, but I have changed my position after a lot of careful consideration. The whole point of the lockdown was essentially to protect the clinically vulnerable and the elderly. Younger fitter people were unlikely to suffer but they could pass on the virus. That’s the reason for the lockdowns . Just because Dave down the pub said he wasn’t at risk ….. bully for him . My 88 yr old mum was (rip) as was Stu’s son and lots of other people. Anyway , think we should put this thread to bed now. Thoughts are with those that lost loved ones and I won’t say what I think about those that blatantly ignored the rules . Hindsight is great but at the time we didn’t have it did we ?

For what it's worth, the hospital has just gone mask free, except for Covid patients who are isolated in cubicles and staff still need to gown up.

It was very difficult not to be influenced by the huge campaign that was running. The recent European Covid summit in Brussels tells the world everything from the angle that we were denied. I sympathise with everybody who fell for it. Even more, those who have fallen ill and passed on either because of the virus or what we will increasingly see now, due to bad advice and coercion. As for the later comments from Yatton. Rule breaking wasn't really rule breaking by definition for me. Those rules were stupid and I didn't need Bojo telling me or my mum when we could and couldn't see eachother or what to wear whilst standing or sitting in a pub! Without retreading though...the Covid summit is worth a watch for anybody still of a certain mindset, and hopefully people have lost a bit of trust in our world leaders now. They are dangerous.

Which European Summit was this? Was it the one attended by a 5 MEPs and titled number 3?

GH79 says
"Rule breaking wasn't really rule breaking by definition for me."
I think I might try that one. Police to me...."You do realise that you were driving at 110mph sir?"
Me..."Yes but, there was nobody else on the road, so its not really rule breaking is it?"
Really

Have you watched it? An interesting 3 hours. What makes absolutely no sense is you complained about a Covid post still being on here as it’s out of date and not relevant yet you’ll happily sit down and watch a 3 hr video all about Covid !

I'm interested in the topic. I've said that already. The whole charade has been a monumental part of our lives and I think its important to disect it. Ive watched/listened to that Conference a few times actually. You should too, then 🤫

I have elderly relatives and kids. To suggest I am selfish is an interesting one, and a bit lazy imo. I and my wife are pretty careful in general wrt health, hygiene and safety. What's actually happened again imo, is the masses have allowed the hype to get to them and they've lost their own ability to think. These people allowed you outside for exercise only and you had to wear a mask only if stood in a restaurant. Think about it! Atack me by all means but just think about how ridiculous it all is.

Well, it's certainly how it came across and your previous comment "I sympathise with everybody who fell for it. Even more, those who have fallen ill and passed on either because of the virus or what we will increasingly see now, due to bad advice and coercion" is insulting. I thank you for your PM the other day but I'm sorry, it comes too close to conspiratorial to me. Maybe that's not what you are suggesting, but it does. I'll bid you farewell for the time being on this thread as I've still plenty to do.

Seems not, neither the fan boys since it backs up the video😮 I stand by my views here and respect others although we may disagree. Good luck
