As always seems to be a fans with a lot of time on their hands. Maybe you can join the SC and make use of that time to help it (and the football club) to become the sort of club you dream it can be? No thought not, easier to moan, complain and criticize innit. Speaks one of the biggest moaners on here!

I guess the converting debt into shares just waters down the SC share holding value in numbers. For the SC to really have any sway it would need to raise a couple of million a year to invest in the club. The fans directors probably only get to attend meetings where the stadium issue is not on the agenda.
That'll be pretty much every one then.

Apologies for that.
I hate Rovers losing games, losing possible revenue and making strange decisions.
Together with Equitable Life losing most of my pension and piles, yeah I can be a bit of a moany old git at times!

You are well respected on here, know many of the players and already have contacts at the club. I get the impression that you are told things that you cannot disclose, so confidentiality does not seem to be an issue. I believe you have kids so as someone who can help encourage a younger generation to become actively part of the SC, with people singing of the same hymn sheet, I think you could be a great fans rep.

I thought we already had two? Do you want one of them out? Not at all. I don't know them. I suspect that they are sworn to secrecy so even if they are told something juicy, they often can't tell anyone - which is the opposite of what most fans want as they want the gossip asap, so it is a difficult job (on top of their working and family lives). I just thing that someone like Tilly would have a huge step up in the role, as mentioned previously, and could be quite good. To have respect at the beginning rather than not being known and often tarred with the same brush as others must be an advantage.

What's difficult about attending a couple of Board meetings p.a. and then report back what was discussed to the SC committee??

I wonder if people have the wrong impression of what happens at a Board Meeting and whilst individual companies do vary how they operate it is important to realise that the board oversees rather than deals with the detail of running the company. The day to day stuff is dealt with by sub comittees at a lower level who just report in without necessarily going into detail. It is funny how individuals fight for the kudos of being on a Board but once they are there realise that its often not what they thought. Directors do assume personal responsibility for making sure that a company and can be sued for breaches of duty and that is why a fans director for example would need to be asking the right questions on health and safety, discrimination policy etc.. The irony of course that any juicy gossip that may come your way has to be kept confidential.

What is it with people saying we want “juicy gossip”
The truth is we would just like to know what’s going on both present and future with the football club we support, and invest our time and money in.
That’s not gossip, it’s keeping your supporters (or customers if you prefer) up to date.
In my opinion, fans of football clubs are massively underrated and taken for granted at times.
