Something unsettling about grown men gloating over another bloke losing his job. Perhaps but plenty on here were gloating over Liz Truss losing her job on a different thread! 😉 Common theme I think, both manoeuvred themselves into a role for which their ambition was greater than their competence. Not that I’m comparing running the country with a lower league football club but the passions are similar. Its a football forum, it’s Rovers-related so of course people will have an opinion. UTG!

I was glad we took a shot on him at first, but once I’d seen him speak in an interview I didn’t get the good vibe like DC and Barton give so naturally, and the rubbish football we produced just spoke for itself 👎🏻 I have no ill will towards the guy tho he tried his best to make us a successful team but just failed miserably. I’m sure he’ll do well dropping down a league or 2

What an odious individual & I'm delighted. We beat Charlton in our last home league game recently were beyond belief. He blamed a combination of the pitch, Vale being a "None football" side, oh and the weather took a battering too ...😨
Then I look back at the two games V SWINDLE town in the play off's last season. YES the pitch was invaded at the end, 💩 happens. But yet again, his post match comments were hard to comprehend. On this occasion the WET PITCH was the reason he lost. So obviously WE were playing them on a different surface!?....🤣
My only hope is that he shuffles back to the equally winging lot at Swindon!! 🤣💯

That's nonsense Wareham, a completely false equivalence. Truss and her incompetence cost the whole country £billions. A football manager costs THE SHAREHOLDERS money when it doesn't work.

Some supporters are convinced - for some reason - that he is a nice bloke. However he chucks everyone but himself under the bus rather than put his hands up and take responsibility for his inadequacy in managing a football team. I have been watching on with amusement over the last few weeks. I don’t know which Ben Garner Swindon had because he wouldn’t have made it to Christmas if it was the same one we had and now Charlton have had.

So he wasn't promised the funds he thought he'd get and the issue is behind the scenes. Doesn't take a lot of nosing at recent managerial history there to see that this isn't much of a surprise. He knew what he was getting into

Prob been better off staying at Swindon where despite them being a basket case of a club he did ok, would imagine play offs far exceeded Swindon fans expectations at seasons start.

This is a shame ,was hoping he would limp on there till the end of the season. Certainly would have increased our chances of picking up a point or 3 at the Valley.
At Swindle they relied heavily on that striker..mckirdy was it ? When he didnt play they struggled to win.

Something unsettling about grown men gloating over another bloke losing his job. Was going to write something very similar. Really shows many in a very bad light.

How he got the job is beyond me but it never should have happened in the first place. The whole thing was a massive mistake.

Worked out nice for us though.

Yes, i agree as it was a huge gamble but i would bet my last penny that JB never had the restrictions Garner had but then Garner was totally unproven and really should never have been near the club.

Garner restrictions? Thought he was given a good budget? Maybe not, seems so long ago. Pretty sure he was given a good budget. Albeit the strategy was about acquiring kids and developing them so it sometimes looks like the cheap option. They were largely inexperienced kids that the parent clubs had lost interest in. Contrast that to JB who often picks up prospects on loan then convinces the parent club to let us take them off their hands at the end of their term. On a side note it’s amazing those who are acting holier than thou over fans reaction to Garner but are happy to chuck muck (some of it of questionable truth) at the club ownership and/or JB.

Cracking con man, useless manager. Was only a matter of time until Swindon realised this and inevitably have sacked him as well, bigger pay off at Charlton though.

Oh there's more than a few Wael and JB haters and critics on here. Ask them what the answer is, ask them to put the money up to replace them, they soon crawl away.
