Should be a great Saturday, Rovers going well in the league and Vale flying - then England France afterwards. Could be some day Would obviously take 3pts over an England win.
Draw will be decent but fancy us to nick it 2-1 with players returning to fitness and form
Be good to have Anderson back on the bench, hopefully Lofty too

Would like to see Rovers and England win however I will be surprised if England win as more often than not they come up short against the top sides. A win against an in form Vale would continue our impressive rum against the league front runners. 2-0 to the Gas

Lived in the Vale area for many years.Their fans told me we were they best team that played there last season when I personally felt Lofty came of age. One former neighbour thought I was taking the wet when I told him we'd signed Gibbons. They did well at Muff Friday.Radio Stoke commentators usually have a go about our ground so a lot of anticipation for this one. Their owner Carol Shanahan regularly giving updates alongside DC on Radio Stoke about how she feels things are going and her stadium improvement plans.Recall for one season they were in a higher Division than Stoke but that didn't last long. Much smaller City than Bristol and not too posh where you can buy a three bedroom semi for £60 grand but spent many happy years in Staffordshire where amateur football in particular is thriving.

The bookies can't split the two & could go either way. Will Doug Loft be playing?
I'd take a point now.
With respect to them, with back to back home games V Accrington & Morecambe after the Gas we could be well in the mix @ Christmas....😁🤞

Same team to start? Maybe just Gordon for Clarke?

Who needs Mbappe, we've got Mfinlay Now you mention Finley, is he available for Saturday as he picked up another yellow card at Bolton & I’m not sure how many cards he had so far?

Who are the potential goal scorers for PVFC?
In the league this season they have scored 11 AWAY goals.
Four of these goals have been scored by James Wilson and four of the goals by "Our Ellis".
Game Plan is simple.

Pretty sure the next cut off is 10 cautions in 37 games (2 game ban). Yellows in cup competitions are treated separately. Edit - Finley's at Bolton was his 5th yellow I think. I must admit when Thomas was booked in the 19th game I was certain that was his 5th and so he would have got a ban - but maybe the two yellows he got and was sent off for in the game against Ipswich only counted as 1 as the second meant a red (if you see what I mean)

TWELVE MONTHS ON
On the 7th of December 2021 Port Vale visited The Mem and secured 3 points.
Sam Finley was sent off in the 15th minute and Cian Harries was red carded in the 77th minute.
Ben Garrity scored the Vale goals in the 31st and 33rd minute.
Only 4 of the Rovers players from that match twelve months ago started in the 1-1 draw against Bolton Wanderers last Friday.
James Belshaw, Sam Finley, Aaron Collins and Anthony Evans were the players concerned.
Similarly, only 5 of the Port Vale matches from last season's victory at The Mem played in the 2-0 win at Plymouth Argyle last weekend.
They were Dan Jones, Nathan Smith, David Worrall, Ben Garrity and Tom Conlon.
James Gibbons also appeared that night.
The match against Darrell Clarke this weekend will not be as much an emotional event as last season's fixture.
With Port Vale on a good run they will be well supported. Meanwhile, our "calmer and cooler" squad will not be as susceptible to the winding-up tactics of a certain Vale player.
This looks like a very competitive match but a Home Win is looking more likely than the points going to The Potteries. UTG.

The most popular areas of the ground are selling well.
The East and West Stand look sold out.
Plenty of space in the East Terrace at present.
South Stand has 45 seats left.
North Terrace has room for 165 more.
West Terrace has 131 places remaining.
Based on the purchasing pattern seen in recent matches these three areas will sell out well before match day.
North Terrace is probably going to be sold out by the end of Thursday.

Was a Vale player, so can see why the Vale fan got his name wrong. Apparently Doug is now 35 and playing for Tonbridge Angels.
