Just had a look at the league table after today’s matches & even though we’ve slipped a couple of places, there’s a large group including us of clubs in mid table covered by 5 points just outside the play-offs. When you consider we’ve played 6 out of the top 8 clubs away, if we can pick up a decent return of points leading up & during the Christmas period there’s no reason that with a couple of additions in January, that we could have a good chance of finishing in the top ten & even a playoff position. If you consider in the current era of Bristol Rovers (since our first ever relegation from league one ). The top 3 finishes (league one) have been 10th 11th 11th So equalling or bettering those positions is a good target.

Only seen the very brief highlights but one slight disappointment with the equaliser, as the ball drops to Charles back stick no one is rushing out to shut him down, at least take the shooting chance away and force a backwards pass. Without being there or seeing the game myself, all in all a handy point. Bring on Vale. Rossiter tries to rush out to block the shot but his clearly held back by a Bolton's players arm, if we had VR at this level I wouldn't be surprised if it had been disallowed, plus Connolly was clearly bundled off the ball leading to the corner, I really can't understand why that wasn't given as a foul. Although once the ref decided there was going to be 7 mins added time (did he think he was ref'ing a WC match?) you just sensed he'd play until Bolton scored, just like the match v Fleetwood.

Just looked at stats and highlights, we weren’t really in it were we?! Gutting but if you sit back for 90+ minutes, a goal is likely, all be it they huffed and puffed to get it right to the end. We really needed that win, but no disaster, shows we can compete (again) onwards!

Highlights etc are not a true reflection of the full game, up to at least half time we looked the side most likely to score the next goal. Whilst Bolton had chances in the second half it's not like they were hitting the woodwork or Belshaw was making save after save, if we'd played a routine amount of added time we'd have probably held out for a win, or even held out if Collins hadn't been subbed off in added time. Sneaking a win by the odd goal at a top 6 side is surely always the aim anyway?

From what I saw, not quite Shrewsbury but definitely backs were to the wall. Ironically if we didn’t score so early it would have been a different game for both teams. Chances are we'd have lost? Probably Bags, but you never know really. 0-0 can often be much more an open game?

Maybe as has been mentioned the sickness bug had an impact on us later on as we did seem to tire rather than deliberately sit back.

We really needed that win, but no disaster, shows we can compete (again) onwards! Up till half time Rovers had more possession 52/48 i think . Rovers looked dangerous on the attack but seemed to overplay it and be a bit shot shy. The Bolton shot in the first half shown in the highlights looked offside at the time and our players demonstrated at the linesman . Second half you could see some players were tiring some poor passes . However they defended well and didnt give Bolton many clear chances. We came close to conceding a pen a couple of times but Bolton were looking for it . It was one of those games you are in the lead for 92 minutes which should be enough to pick up the points. We have been conceding a few late goals this season. This may be due to the lack of players to sub finley or Rossiter with to add new energy in the middle. Something that needs addressing in January in my opinion.

Watched around half of the match on the wireless with pictures....
They definitely deserved a draw, and as I saw it the niggly stop start gamesmanship was partly caused by Bolton little infringes, and our go down to exaggerate a foul - which it was - but we had no advantage in playing on and riding stupid little challenges. I would understand their frustration, but what else is a ref to do?
So, a scrappy draw ensued.
I think many Gas would have taken a draw before a ball was kicked and taking any points from clubs in top 10 is good for me, but once again we seem to be very good at throwing away points later on because we can't manage the game out from a winning position.
We go again next Saturday v port vale. Comparatively, it won't be easy. A different challenge.
As of now, I'm 'meh' about where we are and JAB....he is where we were when he took over and great credit to get us up and moving forward to where we are (just turning around a losing momentum is hard enough), and the way we play our football which at times is easy on the eye and makes for entertaining matches)...but to counter that, we haven't progressed on and fulfilled potential with some individual players, our league position is bang average, cup record poor and discipline record awful..
In world cup terms atm, we are Mexico!

All the club can do is make sure enough points are obtained for survival. No doubt the start of the 2023-24 season will have seen a number of players depart the club replenished by an influx of better and experienced faces. That is what usually happens. UTG.

First Season after promotion, priority HAS to be to stay up.

Charlton lost at home to late Cheltenham goal. Garner must be on borrowed time. Tbh when hasn’t he been on borrowed time? He was with us come the end. Then Swindon gave him a chance and they should have gone up automatically but messed it up. Then he replayed their faith in him by going to Charlton and leaving them in the lurch. Frankly, his reputation this season has gone down and down. After he gets sacked I’m sure he’ll turn up somewhere else, just probably not at a club as big as Charlton. He’s been a fortunate man who’s not taken his chances. UTG!

That doesn't seem the view of most fans when every home game is nearly a sell out (regardless of the ground capacity), we've only lost once in games and that was when we played Wednesday/Saturday. I'm not sure what you mean about our discipline as I can't recall the last time we had a red card this season.

I think BG from December 2019 put us back years....JAB has brought us back to where he took over, but no where near where we were competing in the top 6, so he's done well, but we are where where we were.. Disciplinary....We are 19th in fair play awards according to this: www.transfermarkt.co.uk/league-one/fairnesstabelle/wettbewerb/GB3/saison_id/2022
