Qatar are so poor. Worst team in a world Cup ever? Don't jump the gun. Haven't seen England yet. (Please prove me wrong)

Wasn’t interested in the build up. But that happens. Thought I’d get into it when games started but I watched the first 10 minutes and still can’t get excited. Not sure I am ever going to be bothered this time around. I feel a bit sad as I usually love a good World Cup.

Glad that one’s out the way, we can properly crack on now.
If Qatar didn’t know the level of the world stage, they do now. Couldn’t get the ball off of Ecuador ffs😩😂🤣 Expected them to be poor but that was ridiculous.
That said the South Americans did what they had to do, two early goals, kill the game, empty the ground on the hour and see it out. All you’d want from the opening game, take that tomorrow all day long!

Qatar are so poor. Worst team in a world Cup ever? They are absolute sh*te.
There probably have been worse though.
Zaire in 1974, UAE in 1990, Saudi Arabia in a couple of World Cups and Panama last time in Russia were absolute garbage too.

Not even the Qatari’s were 5 down at half time, as Panama were against us. I do worry for them against the Dutch in the third round of games though👀Could possibly beat the Germans 8-0 against Saudi Arabia in 2002.

Why on earth are we legitimising this farce by taking it seriously?

Why on earth are we legitimising this farce by taking it seriously? You mean like the Nations League, which nobody cared about until we lost a few games & every one jumps on Southgate for the sack😂😂😂

Saudi Arabia are a funny one. Always cruise through qualifying against Japan, South Korea, Australia etc but then struggle in the World Cup when those other teams compete well

Must be playing the likes of Kuwait, Lebanon etc…because that performance was well below what’s required.

This sums up the ludicrous Infantino speech quite well.
And the Saudi's have probably already bought the 2030 World Cup. Here he is today with Bonesaw MBS.

No, it was the whole of Asia, so the teams I mentioned, Iran etc. Iraq managed to win it in 2007 though, so not sure how seriously it's taken. Perhaps the occasion got to them? To be honest though I think any current Asian team would probably finish bottom of a group containing the 4th best South American team, the African champions and The Netherlands. Qatar were seeded as well so could have been worse!

Qatar were seeded as well so could have been worse! They certainly didn’t have their nerves settled early doors when the keeper lost his mind and came out for that punch in the 3rd minute. It could’ve been the occasion, but they barely put 4 passes together in Ecuador’s half all night, couldn’t get the ball off them and had two touches in their box in 95mins. Worrying for their top bods but the fans behind the goal looked like they had a great time till the very end😄

With the England squad being announced today and the World Cup kicking off in 10 days timeI thought I would kick us off a thread. I am hopeful rather than confident going into this one. It will be interesting to see if Southgate goes with players in form vs players that he trusts. This would be my stab at who I think Southgate will pick in the first game vs Iran. Pickford Trippier Maguire Stones Shaw Bellingham Rice Mount Saka Kane Sterling I really hope this is the tournament where Foden comes alive. He is such a good footballer. Edit.. Here is your England World Cup Squad... Going by reports of leaked starting 11 we could he having a BOOM!
