Then again, perhaps Toney should be on the plane just to take a penalty. 2/1 he’d miss 😉

I'm hoping like hell it really is 1-0 to Qatar now just to watch the press conference questions.

Benzema is out of the world Cup injured. Potentially a big positive for England with the potential to face France in the quarters. Obviously a lot could happen between now and then!

I am still backing Denmark to top that group. All feeling very surreal this morning here in Qatar. I was in work from 6am but this is not any normal day, the big day has finally arrived! Counting down the hours until I make my way to the stadium later on. Had a great night out on Friday mixing (and drinking) with some of the England & Wales fans who had already arrived, along with many from other countries.

Definitely can see why you would back Denmark. They've beat France recently, did well at the Euro's without Eriksen and France missing players. I was very impressed by the Danes last year. I think Netherlands are dark hoses for the tournament. Argentina, Brazil and Spain have good chances too.

I can also see Uruguay topping their group ahead of Portugal.

Bristol world obviously received a copy of yesterdays match programme and read the piece about Tom. Certainly not an exclusive from them!

Brazil are the overwhelming favourites for me. Strength in depth all through the squad, from the keepers to the Forwards.
Apart from England, i'll be rooting for them. Thiago Silva will go down as one of the all time greatest Defenders, if he can captain Brazil to win it at 38. Absolute Rolls Royce.
France are without 3 crucial players, Pogba(Who always excels for the National Team), Kante and now Benzema, that is a huge blow and will be too much for them imo
Argentina have got a great Defence, and could Messi finally really light up the tournament, him, Dybala and Martinez is a potent Front 3.
I think Uruguay could be dark horses, Jose Gimenez at the back is class, Rodrigo Bentancur and Valverde in Midfield is strong and a combination of Luis Suarez, Darwin Nunez and Edison Cavani is a handful.
I cant see Holland doing much, they have some very good Defenders but up front they are very poor and cant see them troubling the top Defences.

17 England fans arrested last night for singing "get your face out for the lads" to a Qatari waitress.

Rui Patricio or the excellent Diogo Costa in goal. Cancelo, Ruben Dias, Diogo Dalot (much improved this season) and the outstanding young prospects Antonio Silva and Nuno Mendes options in defence. The likes of Bernardo Silva, Bruno Fernandes, Ruben Neves and Vitinha potentially in midfield. Ronaldo, Rafael Leao, Joao Felix, Goncalo Ramos and Andre Silva options in forward areas.
