I disagree. This competition is not a priority (hence so many kids and fringe players in the line up) and this penalty shoot-out, whilst competitive, was only for an extra point in the group stage. If your young players want to experience a penalty under such conditions then fair play to them. It's all valuable experience. Might come in handy if they establish themselves in the first team and find themselves in a similar position in a more meaningful fixture. Exactly, its good for the younger lads to play in front of a crowd and have that added pressure. For them its about experience and Development. Im sure they would all do things differently the morning after and if they have learnt then its a bonus and the club will be better for it. I'm sure Greenslade although will feel a little annoyed will look at if he could have done better and if so will pick himself up and smash the next one in if called upon. Lawrence seems to be the one from the current batch of youngsters who has impressed the most. Really thought Jones would get involved more this year, although he doesn't even seem to be picked to start in the cup game vs Crawley or yesterday (at least subbed on earlier yesterday). Still plenty of time for them hopefully 🤞

I thought Whelan was excellent yesterday at the back, was concerned we seen that on the line up however he held his own and only got done for pace once/twice.

Plymouth thrashed Swindon. Palace previously beat Swindon, so the Robins are out, unless they get snookers. They have to play us at the Mem and have got to get something like a 6 goal swing. Where have I heard that before?
If we beat Palace we go 2nd. If Palace beat us, we are out, so we play Swindon for the wooden spoon.
If we draw with Palace it is all down to the last games. If that happens, I know it will be nail biting!
Only 4 other u21 sides doing well - Wolves always seem to look decent and try to win. Other than that at present only Man U, West Ham and Arsenal are favourites to qualify from their groups, so hopefully a deserving all lower teams final is on the cards again.
Plus Joey's original loan transfer targets could be available in Jan.
