That was an enjoyable watch, we took a while to get going but chances at both ends. They cut through us a bit to easy early doors but good dogged defending saved the day, could and should have won it at the end but then again so could they. Jacs as safe as ever, loved the way Lofty bullied two defenders for his goal ,shame there goal came from bad mistake by us, no doubting the Pen though IMHO.

Whelan has been excellent imo Thought we struggled with him at the back! Lost count of the amount of times they got in behind him. Can't blame him, as he's not a center back and has no pace. Definitely shouldn't play there again, but it was the right game to try him there.

We’ve been really inconsistent this season in our performances, game on game off. Hope this wasn’t our ‘good’ game..

Not too bad, better than I expected to be honest.
I think Plymouth edged the chances in a first half where neither side looked too much like scoring. They did hit the bar but the keepers had next to nothing to do.
The second half was very entertaining. We started strongly and took the lead. Unfortunately, a misplaced pass from Marquis led to a soft penalty given against Clarke. Both sides had chances to win it but a draw was probably a fair result.
I had Evans down as our penalty taker this season but probably not after tonight. A few nice passes but overall, he hasn't found his form yet this season.
Like the look of McCormick already. Showed some really nice touches. When fit he's the first midfielder on the teamsheet for me.
As I said, not a bad game or performance. Defence looked a little ropey but hardly surprising given how makeshift it was.

Really enjoyed that! Plymouth have got a great set up, an absolutely gorgeous stadium, friendly staff all over , good luck to them. We played well in patches, there was even the semblance of a coherent midfield for periods in the second half. Good clean game, so refreshing, Shrewsbury fans should be forced to watch it just to cleanse their eyes. Clarke did well, I rate him. During half time evans was pinging the ball about like a maestro, haven’t seen him play well in a match yet his penalty typical of his yips (?) at the moment. Lofty is coming on strong, great goal, great power. Aaron Collins would love his big chance back but he just looks like he is loving his work at the minute. Great night😊

Brilliant … not one penalty got even near being saved…. To send Greenslade ( allegedly) to take a pen ahead of some of the older pros is crap ! Gareth Southgate approves.

Still amazed that anyone cares about this tournament while it includes Prem teams. If it was played in my garden I would have shut the curtains!

Thought the young players did well last night. Lawrence looked a little lost off the ball at times but that was due to pace of Game but he soon found his pace and did well on the ball and a great assist For Loft, Jones did well when he came on, although his final ball could have been better on the last break to Collins. Greenslade although came on as wing back didn't lose the ball once and a few good touches down the left and linked up play. Shame about his Penalty but it put it the bottom corner and hit the target which is all he can do, the keeper guessed right but sure he will learn from it and move on. All round a half decent Rovers performance, and a surprise that Clarke was there although and did okay. Penalty for Plymouth was a Pen but should have never been put in that position after a Terrible Back pass from Marquis who again offered Nothing.

Jerry Lawrence was superb. Great little player and his interview afterwards made me smile. Big future ahead.

To send Greenslade ( allegedly) to take a pen ahead of some of the older pros is crap ! I disagree. This competition is not a priority (hence so many kids and fringe players in the line up) and this penalty shoot-out, whilst competitive, was only for an extra point in the group stage. If your young players want to experience a penalty under such conditions then fair play to them. It's all valuable experience. Might come in handy if they establish themselves in the first team and find themselves in a similar position in a more meaningful fixture.

Greenslade came on as a wingback? How were we playing WBs with 4 at the back? Still not sure where Clarke played (left or right?) Also sleepy, dead right, if our young strikers aren’t grabbing the ball for a pen in a nothing game id be more concerned

Exactly, its good for the younger lads to play in front of a crowd and have that added pressure. For them its about experience and Development. Im sure they would all do things differently the morning after and if they have learnt then its a bonus and the club will be better for it. I'm sure Greenslade although will feel a little annoyed will look at if he could have done better and if so will pick himself up and smash the next one in if called upon.

Just seen the highlights, how Lofty leans on their CB’s & brushes them off with ease before the finish😍👌🏻Lads growing in confidence.

Some real positives from this game.
Looks like 4 players might have a significant and unexpected impact on the team this season.
Luke McCormick. Half-fit but tremendous athleticism. Wow.
Lewis Gordon. Still finding his feet but he has real quality and defends properly.
Ryan Loft. Not the same player. Looks like he has needed clever coaching.
Jerry Lawrence. Too soon for regular starts. A talent and level-headed. Can't ask for more.
Meanwhile. Mentioned in dispatches. Glenn Whelan. 38. What a role model.
Several players still not at their very best.
Luca Hoole and Antony Evans are playing like they did at the start of last season. Good enough but not scintillating.
Game changers and skilful gain-line players are still required.
Spaces left in the squad for these. Might be loans or free agents. Hoping for both.

Just seen the highlights. Breath of fresh air after Saturday, two footballing teams at play.
No theatrics, time-wasting or RADA school of performing arts to be seen at any point.
Could have gone either way so a draw fair on the face of it.
Still a reet Poxy competition, hats off to the Gas that made the trip down on a school night.

Surprised no one's mentioned Rossiter? Thought he was excellent last night. Ryan loft looks leaner, ran himself into the ground, strong and great finish. Also I liked marquis and loft combination? I thought there was real signs of a partnership there, personally I'd play collins/loft/marquis together. We had to play much deeper because of our lack of pace at the back, don't think Plymouth would of had half thier chances if we had a normal centeral defender. Evans looked much sharper when he came on. Thought the young lad, whittaker I think his name is? Looked a real prospect.
