Should have been called off before today if it’s going to happen. . Weve known all week what the forecast is for this weekend. Don't see the problem in situations like these to shifting all matches to evening kickoffs. In our case just tell Avon nd Somersets finest to turn up on Saturday night, no doubt they won't fancy that! Agreed but will never happen. The tiny minority of dickheads in our fanbase means we play with reduced capacity, can’t decide our own kick off times and are not even trusted to have tops on our bottled water.

I will not be the least bit surprised if the EFL make a ‘blanket’ decision tomorrow to postpone all league matches. I cannot recall any football match being played in the UK in these temperatures - EVER - they are exceptional and imo should not be taken lightly. Posters have mentioned other places around the globe where matches are played in these conditions but this is Northern Hemisphere Europe with European players. 35c equates to 95F - dangerous by any standards. I assume the EFL have considered all the facts and have decided just having drink breaks will be sufficient?

Your final point the most stupid thing I have ever heard. Expect supporters to turn up carrying their own cold drinks with no bottle tops on. How's that going to work on a crowded terrace for two hours or so?

Bottles with tops on have been banned from our ground for years. It’s nothing new.

I agree but whenever you’ve got 10,000 people in a space there will usually be at least a few wankers. It’s not just football. Festivals, gigs, there’s usually problems. It is annoying but I don’t think you’d ever round up 10,000 from this country and they’d all be law abiding citizens.

Not acceptable that the vast majority have to keep being inconvenienced and poorly treated. What odds fans being re-routed away from Filton Avenue where their cars are parked after tomorrows game by A&S’s finest.

If only my work would get postponed. What a load of bulls this thread really is. Anyone is concerned about teenagers to late 30 year olds playing for 96 mins (less than 60 mins of ball in play) then you need to shake yourselfs. Good batsman can be on the field for 5 days in India, and Australia in Tempetures close to 50 degrees. Never mind the 2 umpires who are out there for 5 days. Never heard a cricket game be called off. People concerned about being to hot to watch football can save them selfs money, stay at home and pay a tenor and watch on I follow, and drink tap water. #justaintcricket

Can you recommend any good tenors we can use in Bristol?
Not sure what cricket has to do with football, ones a game you can easily fall asleep watching and not miss anything, football is usually played at 100mph where if you glance away for a second you can miss something.
Using your logic we could play the next world cup in June not December.

I’ve done three 10k’s this week, put my sweatsuit, winter hat and gloves on just to make it harder for myself. Got home and had the shower as hot as it could go. You guys need to toughen up ffs. Is this post aimed at me mate by any chance ? I think what I posted was quite adequate and friendly but like always all the belters come out as soon as they disagree with their smarmy little comments It’s a light hearted joke mate, well done on your efforts in the heat.

Fans are getting lengthy bans but that doesn't seem to discourage other idiots taking their places. You could also guarantee if we let fans bring in drinks bottles with tops on Saturday, then some idiot would throw one at Taylor if he scores or gets a Rovers player sent off.

My apologies mate , I was out of order speaking to you like that , it wasn’t necessary, a couple of other posts watered me off prior to yours. I’ve given myself a good shake 👍👍

There's something ironic about letting in someone who's blown their own top in there somewhere....I just can't figure it out!?

Lot more to miss over 5 days of cricket compared to 60 mins of football with a 15 min break in between lazy bastards. I guess you don’t work outside everyday day all year round then. Same for both teams no matter what time of year the World Cup is held,

When I had a job working outside for a few years, in the summer I would put my water bottles in the freezer overnight (not full or they would burst when frozen), and take them to work. They stayed part frozen for several hours. This would work with tops off and the water is blessedly cool.
Admittedly they could be a lethal weapon if hurled at someone when frozen.
Not sure what I've contributed to the debate here, but I love to share things.

Really ? I’d be furious. You can’t postpone something that’s been scheduled for months because of weather conditions you’ve known about for 7 days , 24 hours before it’s due to happen. If these games were going to be postponed then it should have been done earlier in the week or not at all. The cost of postponing it late will leave them open to being sued by nearly a hundred clubs that have put on coaches , food, stewards , police etc. Ludicrous suggestion that it should be postponed so close to the matchday.

I’m not saying they should or should not postpone, but many games have been postponed at short notice due to snow/rain etc. it has, and could easily happen.
