We now have been issued an amber warning for heat, in place from Thursday to Sunday, with temperatures peaking at 36°C on Saturday - BBC weather. Could this put the game in doubt? Obviously the players will be fine but could be risky for spectators. Why is it risky for spectators ? if its too hot, simply stay home, for those who enjoy and can bare what is essentially Summer temperatures, dress accordingly, take on board plenty of water, and enjoy the match. Since when was 35C typical summer temperatures in the UK, excluding this summer. I can't recall Rovers ever playing a competitive home game in similar temperatures.

The fact that a lot of the mem is uncovered and directly in the sun (the east terrace side mainly) and the advice is stay out of the sun after mid-day I reckon this might be off.

Although as it stands it’s is an amber warning at the minute so might be ok. If it goes up to a red one then it’s almost definitely being called off.

I can remember it was bloody hot when we played Scunthorpe away on an opening day early 00s however I don’t think it was as hot as being forecast for Saturday

Only takes one person to have a funny turn because of the heat in those forecast temps and it's not worth it. It's usually someone who thinks they can handle it too

That’s no very fair though is it? Some people have season tickets, have done for years and a very rare warning comes along and you just tell them to miss it. Surely all fans should be able to attend the games and if that means not playing in extreme heat, I’d argue it’s the same as not playing in the snow. Safety first, football can be rearranged.

Would be helpful if the club laid on free water points with paper cups if bottles not allowed just to keep those stood in the east stand at least hydrated. There is a water shortage no sprinklers and you will have to use a contactless card to buy a bottle of water at Mem for £2

Chuck some sun cream on and crack open a cold one.

Heat stroke. Dehydration coupled with alcohol consumption. Do not underestimate it. The UK average high in August is 21°C, so very far below 35. Please stay hydrated everyone.

Wimps Just turn the pitch-sprinklers on the crowd while the players have their water break.

East Terrace dweller here! Certainly does get scorchio stood out watching the footie for gone 2hrs odd on that uncovered side. Especially for those of us that shave the old swede! As mentioned, each individual has to take their own precautions. Personally, it’s less booze, more H2O & a covered bonce, perfect!
Bring em on!!

Some snakes like the heat, some can't handle it. The sprinklers have always sorted out that problem in the past.

Ok we all agree its going to be a very hot day.
1) wear sun block/ high factor sun lotion. 2) sun glasses. 3) a hat (with a brim preferably) 4) if drinking booze drink less than normal and have a non alcohol drink or two as well. 5) wear cool loose clothing . 6) remember to eat 7) Dont stand still too long. Nip to the loo or pasty shop or just walk up and down the gangway a few times in the game. 8) keep an eye on those around you. If someone looks like they are overheating kindly mention they might like to go get a cool drink (you will mind their spot for them) 9) you can always bring some sweets with . 10) if you do a pitch invasion...do it when the sprinklers are on 😀

Don’t think so but met office heat warnings are a new thing, which trigger government action. Plus such heat is becoming more extreme and more frequent. Better call off the world cup in Qatar now then. It won’t be more than 30 degrees in November. Pretty sure there were matches played at recent World Cups (Russia, Brazil…) where some games were played in 35 degree heat. The Qatar league started last week. Whilst matches are played in the evenings, it’s still 40 degrees and 90% humidity. If I were a pro footballer, I would rather play in an English heatwave.

That day in Nizhny Novgorod against Panama was ridiculous heat! Easy mid 30’s

Regardless any decisions will be made by the FA/EFL/SAG not fans apparently just having a needless moan
