If people have any common sense they will simply stay away from the Mem, avoiding the blistering heat for 90-minutes!! Is it worth having sun-stroke, dehydration and so on ? No doubt the match will be played at a snail's pace.

Has a game ever been called off in the UK for heat?? Don’t think so but met office heat warnings are a new thing, which trigger government action. Plus such heat is becoming more extreme and more frequent. Better call off the world cup in Qatar now then.

You’re being ironic, right? No mate, global warming is a myth according to my good friends over at the David Icke Forum. As opposed to your source of “what the TV says” Just saying, we are all generally just repeating what we hear.

Can’t see bottles being allowed in, especially with a certain ex-player being on the pitch…

Where are the SAG now? The H&S brigade would probably ask that water is provided, SAG worried about bottles so have now disappeared on what - to some - is an important issue. Assuming the CCTV has been sorted it's quite simple, throw a bottle, get banned

Would be helpful if the club laid on free water points with paper cups if bottles not allowed just to keep those stood in the east stand at least hydrated. Hopefully whichever idiot manages the food and drink outlets will have learned from the shambolic scenes on the East Terrace from the FGR game. They chose to stop drinks being sold from the hotdog stall when they had previously. Due to a shortage of food from our new provider one of the two remaining food outlets was closed. The staff from the closed outlet were just stood around twiddling their thumbs when they could have still been selling drinks. The result of the above was just one source of buying a cold drink on the East Terrace was open which meant huge queues from the minute the turnstiles opened. Idiotic.

Those of us who want a decent view, unencumbered by sunshine in our eyes, or rain on our heads (remember rain?) stand or sit anywhere but the East Terrace.

Don't think they stopped any games in 1976 Summer heatwave ?A Football season started later in the old days, usually the last week of August by which time the heatwave was over. Most of the hot weather in 1976 was in June / July

Safety first. I’d it’s too hot for spectators to watch it’ll be genuinely dangerous to play in. Be far better to postpone than risk anyone being seriously ill, or worse, from the sun.

We now have been issued an amber warning for heat, in place from Thursday to Sunday, with temperatures peaking at 36°C on Saturday - BBC weather. Could this put the game in doubt? Obviously the players will be fine but could be risky for spectators. Why is it risky for spectators ? if its too hot, simply stay home, for those who enjoy and can bare what is essentially Summer temperatures, dress accordingly, take on board plenty of water, and enjoy the match.
