I am tired of hearing about McCormick. It will be no great loss if he goes elsewhere. Plenty of other players who I am sure would do a good job! Pleased the club are not paying over the odds for such players.

It sounded like we'd made progress last week but based on Barton's comments post match on Saturday, Wimbledon might have stuck a bit extra on the asking price after hearing of interest from Hibs and Portsmouth.
Not really the players fault.
I still think McCormick would be a good signing and would be delighted if we were able to agree a deal. However, if Barton believes he can get better value elsewhere then that's fine too.
I don't know much about Adam Phillips but his record for Morecambe in L1 & L2 is pretty good, and at 24, he still has the potential to get better.

Pompey do not really need a player like LM.
If they sell a similar style of player they might.
Hibs have signed 11 new players. Some expensive.
Likkle Lee is a wee scally.
They have overspent their budget and are trying to offload 3 or 4 players.
Any artful agent would love it reported that Hibs and Pompey are keen on LM.
Similarly, Wimbledon gaffer, JJ, is doing what he feels right. He is trying to up the price.
LM does not want to play in League 2.
There is still a deal to be done.
BUT.......................
Sometimes deals only happen at the very last minute.
Sometimes the selling club ends up with a disgruntled player who wants out.
Common sense does not always prevail.
Everybody can win. Or everybody can lose.
At present AFC Wimbledon and LM's agent are not winning.
This story will end if a good deal for BRFC exists elsewhere.

Seems to me McCormick has a deal he can sign but he is playing with fire to get more dubbloons.
I can only see this ending in tears for McCormick when the interest from other clubs dries up because he’s been playing the field too much and they go elsewhere.
He could find himself stuck at AFCW where they no longer want him, either.

Can't footballers organise themselves without hiring expensive agents?

Can't footballers organise themselves without hiring expensive agents? A few do but they’re very much in the minority I’m pretty sure I read that Kevin de bruyne sorts out his own contracts .

Can't footballers organise themselves without hiring expensive agents? Obviously not They really are the scourge of the modern game That’s why I’m hesitant to attach blame to Luke himself, it ultimately won’t be him making the decisions, Wimbledon and his agent will be holding out for the best offer for THEMSELVES Luke is merely a pawn in the saga. UTG I doubt he’s fully isolated from the decision. If he wants to sign for Rovers and the agent gets in the way he can tell the agent he intends to walk away from them.

Grown up enough to know what he wants. He probably is pushing the agent to get as many bucks as possible for his next signing. Leave him to stew in div 2.

A lot of people blaming McCormick here. Is it possible the "silly money" being mentioned is what WIMBLEDON want for him?
If he really hasn't trained with them (or featured), my guess is that he's actually very keen to join us and has said as much, Wimbledon have then got the hump but are asking for silly money and we're refusing to pay it.
That's probably left us with no choice but to walk away and then left his agent with no choice but to put the feelers out for other interested suitors, given that he's maybe now burnt his bridges at his current club.
Apologies if I've missed anything that confirms the silly money is LMC or his agent, but I haven't seen anything, and it seems everyone is rushing to blame them when it's very possible (and in fact likely given they don't want or need to sell him given the other midfielder they sold for a shed-load) that it's actually Wimbledon that are "trying to pull our pants down".

Dons forum suggesting Macca has refused to train, play, everything for them... Sounds like a breach of contract. Not sure its the type of situation Barton or club would be keen to get involved in and matches up to JBs presser quotes.

Is £200,000 really silly money for a player who was probably their best player last season and no doubt Chelsea will still want some of whatever fee Wimbledon get- the greed which is these Premiership club even when they realise that the concerned player is very unlikely to make the Premiership. I have to say I am not a great fan of players who are unwilling to play at a level that THEY have been involved in the club falling to that level. Luke was happy enough to sign the contract last season!! I believe he would be a good signing but not at any price or circumstance. Sorry but I don't take any Scottish team seriously other than Celtic and Rangers. How many young players actually progress their career North of the border?

Good player, wrong situation and too expensive. Next. How can you say he's too expensive if you've no idea what we've offered, or what Wimbledon will accept? Hibs now seem the only other club interested but, so far, there's still no signs of a deal being agreed.

At the end of the day, he will come here if we are willing to pay Wimbledon what they want and are willing to pay the wage demands that he will have.
All parties have to protect themselves. Let's say Evans stops training for us, we would be livid if another team comes in and tries to pick him up for less that our valuation.
£200k may be silly money for us at the moment. However it's not *really* silly money. We have paid more and we have paid less for players.
Personally, I thought he jumped ship when we got relegated and wouldn't really want him back.
It's interesting that we are even linked to him as I would have thought JB would have thought less of him when he left.
