Agree we looked disjointed today & like everyone else we called the Sinclair moving back inside early on. However looking at the positive side we've come through 4 tough games with various players missing & picked up 10 points. 3 points on Sunday & we've then got a break to hopefully get everyone fit & bring in some width.

Which simple chances would they be? We didn't create any. Poor day at the office but stole a point. Parkes missed two free headers. Sinclair forced a good save from the keeper, shooting high from the middle of the box. Harrison had the keeper look on when he shot just past the post (not sure he was caught flat footed or confident the ball was going wide). Blissett dragged one back with his heel that went straight to the keeper, but could have gone anywhere. Monkhouse had a defender throw his body in the way of a goal bound shot in the final minute. The Parkes efforts were from corners rather than creativity. The Blissett back heel was very weak and something he attempted unsuccessfully last week too. Didn't see the Monkhouse one from where I was and can't argue with you re Harrison, but in fairness it looked like he did well off his own work rather than anyone creating anything. Can't remember the Sinclair one. I still feel that although there may have been scoring chances we really created very little. I think we were very poor after being put on the back foot by a weak starting line up. Macca and Harrison should have started today (assuming Gosling wasn't fit for 90mins). I hope DC now accepts that Sinclair is not a winger.

A good result (that we admittedly didn't deserve), but I've got a horrible feeling that our inability to bury simple chances is going to bite us in the arse in a big way when it gets to the business end of the season. Which simple chances would they be? We didn't create any. Poor day at the office but stole a point. From where I was stood a few of the headers looked like bad misses (no-one else is making a meal of them though, so maybe it's a combination of poor eyesight and confirmation bias), but I was also speaking generally. It's been a consistent problem this year, and while we've gotten away with it for the most part, you can almost guarantee that our luck is going to run out at the worst possible time.

The trouble is, Sinclair playing wide is a double blow: he's not a great winger, but he is a great loss in the centre. It wouldn't be so bad if he was being moved to make way for a Steven Gerrard, but he's not, so we end up weaker in both areas.

Was Gosling unfit or is that just a rumour? If he was then can anybody remember when Harrison last played on the wing? It's easy for us to moan after the game but DC must have thought SS was the best option out wide over EH.
I don't think we missed one easy chance and it's still 10 pts from 12 which I doubt many of us forecast before the Festive season?

I don't see how this doesn't confirm DC's position on starting Harrison as somewhat bloody minded.

Perhaps it's the other way around. There's a natural pessimistic tendency to see narrow successes as luck, but narrow failures as shortcomings. Maybe we've been unlucky, not lucky. All those misses against FGR, their deflected equaliser at their place, LDV's injury... With better luck, we might be several points better off. Perhaps, if you want to think in terms of luck, ours will improve, rather than run out.

Parkesy, Leadbitter and maybe Sinc's..you done ok go get yourself a hot drink and muesli bar, i'll see you at Nuneaton. Gosling - Unlucky son, thought your team leader let you down after you'd had your best game Against Maccs, you go with them and have a cookie or two.
The rest of you and that includes you Darrell, not good enough i'm afraid. I wanna know what you were bloody thinking. You've shown what you're capable of and that level of intensity needs to be consistent if we're gonna bloody get that first place. I don't want any bleedin play-off place! Second is nowhere! Darrell as team leader i'm disappointed, you had a good run going and meddled once too often. You can be Mr bloody tinker if you want too, i'll stand some of that, but if you're gonna do it, you gotta win or i'll bloody pull you up on it. Got it!
Now, i've been impressed recently so i'm not gonna come down too hard on you, so i suggest you get back out on that training ground and train twice as hard today and have a good think about a few things while you're at it too.
Go on, get out, i'll see you at the next task.

i think dc has been unlucky with wingers with balanta and della verde getting injured but mansell and sinclair are a very capable middle 2 at this level and they should stay there whatever imo

Jordan Seabright has quit footy. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/31691719Fair play to the lad, he had a bit of banter with us and was big enough to tweet that his knee slide in front of 1,000 Gas "wasn't one of my finer moments..."
