Pleased for him if that happens … genuinely.
Also pleased none of the locust clubs waiting to dine off of him will miss out hopefully.
We did our bit for his development and can be proud of that.
Eddie Howe … please Send us the next bright young thing who needs Gas love!

According to today's Telegraph, Eddie Howe will be keeping him at Newcastle this season. One of us could write that article given that he's starting tonight!

Eddie Howe … please Send us the next bright young thing who needs Gas love! Agreed. If we don’t get him back, hope he just stays in the Toon squad. Would be awesome if he goes on to establish himself with the Gas as his launchpad. Also, maybe a 1 month loan to give him some game time when it’s the World Cup???

Really pleased for him and not in the slightest bit surprised that he looks like forcing himself into Newcastle’s first team squad. Can’t believe anyone ever thought there was a realistic chance he would ever come back - should just think ourselves lucky to have had him for the short time we did. Best player I’ve ever seen in the quarters.

Player Ratings
Elliot Anderson 7
Showed willingness to get on the ball.
Miguel Almiron 8
The late addition to the team sheet missed one chance early on. But made no mistake when slamming home Trippier's cross. And curved home well to make it 2-2.
Allan Saint-Maximin 7
Has had some good moments when Newcastle have managed to get him on the ball.
Callum Wilson 6
Had a couple of openings. The best one was smothered by Vlachodimos.

At least he lasted 45 mins unlike his replacement:
17. Joelinton (on for Anderson, 45) - 5
A strong, physical presence in the midfield, just like he was last season. Unfortunately, the referee wasn’t having it, and the Brazilian was sent off for two yellows.

Enjoyed watching Elliot, fantastic footballer; imo he is good enough to be playing in the premier league.

Playing tonight at St James Park against Atatlanta. Newcastle one up at halftime. Elliot brought down for the penalty. It's on NUFC TV if anyone interested.

Best player I’ve ever seen in the quarters. Once EH said he was going to look at him in pre-season you knew he would take his chance to impress. Until it’s confirmed we’ll have to wait but I hope he does really well in the PL. in a way it’s a no brainier for Newcastle given his age. He is a special talent. Good luck Elliot. UTG!

Having watched a bit of Newcastle over the last couple of years I’ve no doubt he’s better than some of their existing players. I’m looking forward to watching him progress this year. I caught a bit of talksport in the build up to their friendly tonight and he’s getting plenty of attention already. Shame we’ll never see him in the quarters again but at least we know we’ve played a small part in his development and watch his career from a far - getting Newcastle in the cup would be great though !!!

Fair play to him, however its one thing to play against good opposition in friendlies and another to play in the Prem. I agree with Howe's assessment, no need to decide right now. Lets give him the chance in the Prem to prove himself. But absolutely no chance they're letting him drop to L1.

Unfortunately the 5 sub rule this season will give him some game time at Newcastle this season. Wish him all the best and will be eternally grateful for his time with us and would like to think he will always have a bit of gas in his heart.

"He has returned from Bristol Rovers a better player", said Eddie Howe after last night's game and no decision will be made until the end of the transfer window regarding a loan. I hope other Premier managers get to hear that.
