6 players wanted in, in what is essentially 11 days. Interesting to see what happens as nothing sounds imminent this week. As a Gashead, I expect to be let down anyway! 🤣

You look at our bench on Saturday and last night and although there is experience, there are no flair or creative players that can change a game if you go behind.
Loft was our only attacking option.
Last season we regularly had Thomas, Nicholson, and Saunders on the bench to bring on if we were chasing the game.
Early days but I'm not convinced about Marquis. Personally, I'd like to see us sign a couple of quality attacking midfielders to play either side of Evan's so we have the option of putting Collins back up top.

Both Fit and would run and fight for the club all day ,and both can create and score Goals. I would have bought them both on second Half against Burton to have a look, Also I would have started both at Crawley, as that couldnt have been much worse! we would then find out just how good these kids are and we would have had a much fresher starting 11 last night! Also if they did hit the ground running as both looked really sharp pre season maybe we would not be so concerned in signing forward players as we would have the cover.

We always get a clamour to throw the kids in but they have to show they are good enough in training first (including in full 11 v 11 inter squad matches) and also in the minutes they get in preseason friendlies. It’s been proven time and again over the past few years that our youngsters are not good enough and most end up dropping several leagues into semi pro football. I sincerely hope the likes of Jones and Greenslade prove their worth and make their way into the side on merit.

But i saw them at Melksham and were both great for the 45 mins Greenslade with a Goal and a assist, Jones With with Goal also. And at the Mem in the not much Fun Day both playing out of Position but Still managed to shine against our starting 11 in which our starting 11 couldn't score against or break down. If they aren't worth a chance are any of our starting 11 at the moment, seeing they looked knackered already!

I agree, but I thought both were decent in the 11 (23's) + 11 (starting line up) in the match (fun day for spectators), Greenslade playing as a wing back!! but put 4 really good through balls through to Saunders and Loft & Gave Clarke and Collins the run around for 90 mins. Jones excelled when Westbrook went over to the other team and caused trouble going forwards. The Starting 11 looked average! And there would have been no better time against Crawley, and the second half against Burton to have a proper look at them as we would have lost nothing in finding out.

Again little seems imminent this week .... maybe our interest in the Burnley lad might come to something?
JB says he wants 6 or 7 - " We need six maybe seven" ...
Desperately need more options from the bench and some new faces in the starting eleven.... CB / 2 X AMF or WGR / CF for me
I think we will see two possibly three or four in at best ...one permanent and some loanees ? - Unless he goes berserk at the end of the window which could be an interesting watch.

Matches against Melksham prove nothing other than general fitness. I trust JB to know if any youngsters are up to playing in the League games. I think five in is an absolute minimum.

Stoke fans suggesting d'margio wright-phillips may be heading our way on loan…. That’s intriguing: Barton after the friendly v Stoke: The Rovers boss came through the Manchester City academy with fellow England international Shaun Wright-Phillips, and Barton's former teammate's son was in the lineup for the Potters. Twenty-year-old D'Margio Wright-Phillips has made a bright start to his career with Stoke after also coming through the Citizens' youth setup, breaking into Michael O'Neill's first team last season. Barton said: "It would’ve been nice to catch up with them (Taylor and Souttar) and see them but I did catch up with young D’Margio Wright-Phillips. Shaun had D’Margio when we were YTS (at Manchester City). None of us even had kids or even knew what our reproductive organs were for at the time and Wrighty had a kid. "I did feel my age when I caught up with him out there. It was superb to see him, I remember him being literally a baby. I was delighted to see him, he’s a great kid and he’s obviously had a good start to his career and I wish him well going forward."

No but our first team is our first team, and they couldn't beat the 23's. And look how the younger ones got on against Chippenham who finished above Bath last year who the 1st team lost to!! Are we even playing the right 11 in the League?? All i am saying there have been opportunities to rest players and see a few of the younger ones play in league and cup and we would be in the same position if not better as we would have had fresher players last night, you will soon see if they are ready not! But watching Marquis 1 in 5 games and hasn't really looked like scoring apart from a header that Collins set up on plate, and Loft who has 17 Goals in 109 games playing lower leagues I would want to see what else we have!

Yeah we all know our record signing was £undisclosed (with add-ons) for Tom Nichols in 2017 Really ? I thought it was still Tilson I guess officially it is. But the Peterborough Chairman divulged what the initial fee was (£350k) and that there were add-ons www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/how-much-bristol-rovers-paid-746738So it is fair to assume that the performance related add-ons (although definitely not goal related ones ) would have most likely taken the amount over what we paid for Tilly.

We'll probably never know for sure because those add-ons could have been triggered by goals scored, the team being promoted or simply a sell on clause giving them a percentage of a future sale. Neither do we know how much those add-ons were. Could have been as little as £10k, maybe as much as £50k, but it's possible none were triggered and nothing extra was paid.

If for example Hoole had played right back and kilgour right centreback. Anderson may have started right midfield. That would have put Saunders on the bench. So there would have been loft and saunders as attacking options to add freshness. It would have also meant more actual defenders on the pitch plus a midfielder who can tackle . The doesnt still avoid the neon sign saying we need some attacking midfielders. Im sure JB will bring them in. If he doesnt we will be relegated.
