I honestly don't think this would of happened if Trump was still in power. Whatever your views on the man, and his rhetoric, the likes of Putin, feared and respected him. The sleepwalking Joe Biden, whose more concerned about Trans toilets and pronouns, is no match for the likes of Putin. I wonder what the 'Anybody but Trump' views are now? Be careful what you wish for I suppose in hindsight? A bit like when Charlton fans wanted Alan Curbishley out, when they thought he'd taken them as far as he could after finishing 7th in The Premier League, within a few years they were midtable in League 1!! Oh god. Regardless of what you think of Trump the man. Do you think this would of happened if Trump was still in office? The only Western leader to meet with Kim Jong-un, he knew how to keep the likes of Putin sweet, whether you like it or not. I'd hazard a guess that we've all had a teacher at school or a boss at work that you didn't know what to expect from them,so you didn't mess with them just in case. That's Donald Trump. He wasn't a nice guy, he didn't write nice things on Twitter, he didn't take losing very well, and he did and said some unsavoury things that I don't agree with. However the main job of your president or Prime Minister is to get the best possible deal for your country! Not write nice things on Twitter, not to be polite, it's to achieve the best possible outcome for your country. Trump knew how to keep the likes of Putin in check. Bidens been an absolute disaster, which as predicted is just being swept under the carpet because he isn't Trump. Surely even yourself agrees that this wouldn't of happened under Trump?

francegas Emmanuel Macron @emmanuelmacron just called. I must say that he is a true friend of Ukraine. 🇫🇷 with us in the most difficult moments. The disconnection from SWIFT and the introduction of personal sanctions against Putin and the provision of defense weapons were supported. Thanks to France. Not sure the point your making to me here Yatton. The UK along with the EU and US have all introduced sanctions against Putin and Lavrov and will/have frozen assets. The UK have also supplied Ukraine with weapons and military equipment.

Well trump certainty wasn't a CIA man like biden, and he seemed to have an insular vision for America. Trump was in awe of Putin tho, as he saw himself in him, the ultimate capitalist leader. Putin came in to power because he prevented American industry seizing Russian state assets after the fall of the USSR, and kept them for russian oligarchs. Which the Russian people were happy to accept. Did you see the famous press conference where trump completely submits to Putin? Remember hunter biden being balls deep in the Ukrainian energy sector lol.

He was widely ridiculed in France when he came back all arrogant saying he had personally secured a peace deal with Putin.

Putin had Trump by the balls, they had so much sh*t on him. To a lesser extent they’ve probably got similar on Boris.

Why don’t you comment and give us your thoughts ? Yes Come on Grover, develop your argument It isn't about knowledge, it's about belief. People have had their entire psyche built upon liberalism, so when something threatens that order (brexit, trump, war etc) they don't have the capacity to comprehend any other solution. You inherently believe liberal democracy is the answer to everything, there is no other way for you.

Given Trump's words on Putin I have no doubt this would have happened with Trump in power and I have little doubt that Trump would have been less than critical. Recently, like in the last week, he described Putin's moves as "genius". And you support him. You really should hang your head in shame. More alarmingly you might want to consider your personal cognitive dissonance.

What I believe is that, in my now 70 years on this earth, I have not been witness to any other system that has better outcomes, warts and all.

Maybe you should hold your head in shame for being more bothered about Trumps words and banning him from Twitter rather than the deaths of many, many Ukranians which would of been avoided. Feebily weak, just as Putin sees us!

Putin had Trump in his pocket and played him for the utter fool he is , and Trump lauded his genius. 🙄

As I stated previously he says and does unsavoury things that I don't agree with. Perfect analogy, Roy Keane did unsavoury things, punching, headbutting, stamping on people, making horrific tackles and getting Sent Off loads of times. Give me Roy Keane over say Jamie Redknapp any day of the week. That's how I see Trump, in this feeble, weak climate we're currently living in 🙂

Well Trump’s gone, the American people voted him out of office. As for would this have happened if he was re-elected, well we won’t know either way.
Let’s not forget that Macron tried to cosy up to Putin and that ended pretty badly for him.
