Don’t wanna put a dampener on it but we’re still going down IMO. Nice to get a win though! Impossible to call now as the bottom 6 are also poor, the fact we've lost 5 on the bounce but are joint 19th tonight really sums it up, Rochdale are looking down (again!), Swindon and Wigan back now to losing, Wimbledon hardly ever winning and hopefully Northampton's good run is coming to an end as they only now won twice in the last 6 games, meaning just anothjer 2 wins might be enough to keep us up, unless the top 6 stop picking up the 3pt points against the bottom 6 sides 19 Bristol Rovers 46 -24 43 20 AFC Wimbledon 46 -25 42 21 Wigan 46 -27 41 22 Northampton 46 -24 40 23 Swindon 46 -24 39 24 Rochdale 46 -22 38 Think we need 48 points personally, going to be tight JCH can save us again!

Is Rodman out for the remainder of the season? I don't think so - hopefully back before too long.

I've been saying the same for weeks, I like what Westbrook can do for the team in open play when in a forward role, he's got an eye for a great pass but his dead ball delivery is very poor most of the time. Apart from corners, free kicks outside the box must be something to work on this week. For sure, there's lots of room for improvement with dead ball routines, we're not very creative with them and they are usually predictable lofty slow balls that the opposition have no problem clearing

Great game. Well done the lads and more importantly Joey. I cant bring myself to post on the BARTON OUT THREAD. We are lucky to have this bloke. Passion, commitment , knows the game (I wish he would put his Boots back on). Sorry I don't care what off field antics or what he says (all press crap anyway), the guy wears his heart on his sleeve. This is Rovers, UTG get behind him, we will not get Pep, Klopp or any of those guys. Do we think that Joey is going to spend his whole managerial career at L1 L2 level, I don't think so. Lets get the most out of someone who has been around Prem level. Their is no one else at the club that has anywhere near the exposure to top level football than him.

Lets get the most out of someone who has been around Prem level. Their is no one else at the club that has anywhere near the exposure to top level football than him. Exactly this, it’s taken someone who has been at the top of the game in recent times to come here and to see just how tinpot our beautiful club is / has been for far too long. Like him or not, it really did need pointing out just how village we have become. There have been glimmers of a future under Wael, but will need energy, passion and more importantly understanding of modern day football teams which Barton does have. L1 or L2 we have to give Barton a chance to see through some important changes to the way our club is run. Tisdales sessions and attitude was too laid back and young aspiring clueless coach of the year got us in this mess. Here’s to a great result and praying for some battling performances if nothing else.

Had to work and got cut off just after I saw that we'd equalised. Boy was I thrilled to see the result! Come on Gas, now push on!

At least avoid defeat on Saturday and it'll start to get interesting.

My God winning feels good. Well done Lads. They put a great shift in today, it needs to become the standard.

I'm never confident against Donny even when we're in good form. We've won 1 and lost 9 of the last 12 meetings over the past 16 years and some of those defeats were heavy, including our last meeting at the Mem when we lost 4-0. With a number of first team players probably unavailable (Ehmer, Kilgour, Harries, Rodman, Ogogo, Grant, Nicholson) and Hanlan only 80% fit, I think we could be looking at another heavy defeat today. Hope I'm wrong. Football's a funny old game... GasAttacK

Good result today and a truly exceptional performance by one of our players. Still plenty to do in order to stay up, personally I do not think we wll make it - the problem is there are not enough goals in the side. I feel our best spell this season was when James Daly was part of a front two, but he does not get much game time these days, and up front is where I think we will fail.

Well the good news is that Joey has managed 2 more points and a plus 4 goal difference with BFGs team compared to what the great man did himself against the same opponents in our first 3 games!

The Rule of 6 came into play?
Both teams winless in 6!
Donny our BOGEY team last few years!
And we won. Great performance by the whole team with great heart, especially “loanee” McCormick who again, as at Ipswich, dragged us back into the game. He was quietly immense at Ipswich and stood head and shoulders above anyone else on the pitch today. Stunning perseverance and performance by him.
Rule of 6 in play still for us; 6 games to go!
Lately, we have done well vs Northampton; remember the 6 away there a few seasons ago which should have been at least 11!
Let’s roll the dice and hit the magic 6 for the next 6!
Going to be tough but heart and less mistakes at back! Leahy much further up front added extra? Maybe he should take some of the set pieces and keep it simple? None of these “pointless” short corners which we invariably concede the ball and put ourselves in trouble.
Keep the game simple, just like life.
PS Could do with the other Heart for the run in but Nicholson out for rest of season? Hopefully not!
PPS Northampton is about 66 miles from me and takes 1 hour 6 minutes = 66 minutes to get there by car! Rule of 6 definitely in play for us now?
PPPS As I write this, it is now the 6th day of the month. Sixth Sense Anyone?

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the commentator on i-follow for taking the trouble to explain in lengthy detail why any free kick awarded to Bristol Rovers was a mistake by the referee .

Kevin Phillips on quest mentioned last night our winner had Hanlan offside, as he was right in front of the keeper guess he was right, maybe lady luck is turning UTG

Credit to both, the player got straight back up and got on with it. Loved that.
