I don’t really understand your point but we were 8 points off the playoffs when Garner was sacked. So with all of your shots on target analysis and shouts of pathetic and miserable etc we had 3 wins and 3 draws out of 11. I’ve never seen the shots on target league standing before, is it similar to the XG league table? The only columns that matters on a league table is the points one. Not number of shots, not how many goals we might have scored if the goalie didn’t save them etc. A horrible team to watch who barely managed a shot on target. Good riddance. Yep, I much prefer the 2 out of 11, 5 losses in a row but lots of shots team we have now

A 6th place finish, better than any Bristol Rovers manager has achieved in two decades. And when Barton left Fleetwood they were only 3 points off the playoffs. Sunderland and Portsmouth sack their managers of not in the automatic promotion spots as the season progresses. It’s all relative to budget and playing staff. Some of Fleetwood top earners were earning 3 times out top earners last season. Oh and we were 8 points off the playoffs when we sacked Garner. salarysport.com/football/sky-bet-league-one/fleetwood-town/

Or it was the best BG could sign for the £100K he was given to spend on strikers? I can't imagine BG telling Wael to keep his money as he'd sooner sign cheap strikers? Perhaps he should have utilised some of the CB and LB budget then and not blown it all on four LBs and Ehmer. The assumption i came to as regards the left defence position is that the existing players were not what BG saw as being ones who could play left wingback as he wanted. So whilst leahy and kelly were at the club BG didnt see them as first team squad players. Thus why tutonda and koiki came in. So in the eyes of BG he only had 2 left sided players the others were surplus to requirements.

Or, if you look at it another way, Garner was just 3 points off relegation when he was finally relieved of his duties. Or another way, Barton was just 9 points off the relegation zone when he was sacked.

A limp and powderpuff team devoid of leaders, character, goals and solidity.

Interesting how our top earners are loans. I dont know whay we brought him in really, an out and out striker would have done, but of course they demand more money

Was TW the common denominator when the club were sat in 4th ? If you think there is one common cause for the problem .That if you behead them it will cure the problem. You are wrong. There are many many issues that have been got wrong from many many people. The club only moves forward when mistakes are learned and put right by each individual. Those that cant put it right have to then move on . The first step is to recognise the problems and point them out to the individuals concerned. That can only be done by people who have all the relevent information. And we on here dont.

Also, we had few injuries in that 11 game spell and not once did we have a player not have his shin pads on and ready to come on.

The difference is that when Coughlin took over, he really put a new spine in to the team with a new goalie, centre half, central midfielder and striker. All of whom were experienced players and all of which he knew. Garner has brought in inexperienced players in and unfortunately we no longer have a strong spine, in fact we dont have one at all.

On loan as well. Really doesn’t seem to fit the Garner model. I think Garner only started him once as well. There have been a few strange loan signings...Abraham was another.

There is a really interesting thread on here showing forum votes for MOM and general performance.
In the first 10 games Hanlan and Ehmer were two of the most voted for MOM.
Now they are two of the most derided players on this forum. Hanlan was scoring goals and being voted man of the match.
Little and Hare were clearly consistent, liked performers. Why have they been bombed out?

Why have they been bombed out? Little has done nothing in all his time here and Hare hasn't been the same since his injury. Ehmer been poor from the start with particularly shocking performances against Hull, Ipswich and Donny, plus Hanlan only got the one goal from open play in those 10 games.

Paul Cook: “But I think Joey’s got a genuine good argument with the first one. It’s hard for Joey at the minute because he’s had a few which has gone against him.
“In my opinion it is a possible red. But over a period of time [these things even themselves out]. I get where Joey is because you feel like everyone’s against you"
When will these things start evening out then? The biggest fairytale in football is that refereeing decisions even themselves out over the course of a season.

We had already started to get that addiction from Garner and Tisdale failures

This talk of injuries and blame. 22 games in 77 games between 9th Jan and 27th March is not going to help. I know it’s the same for a lot of teams but it’s been years since we’ve had such a relentless run of fixtures and with the pace and intensity of the modern game it’s no real surprise there have been casualties along the way. Not an excuse as such.
When we looked at the fixture congestion and the lack of depth in key positions in the squad back in January we knew this was likely to be a factor. It makes the lack of signings in January even more puzzling, particularly when we’d lost Mitchell-Lawson and Davies from the squad. One could almost argue that it was negligent.
