Fair enough, thanks for explaining. How’re you doing btw, back to full fitness? No long covid symptoms I hope? If I'm honest C19 knocked me for six and made me a mess.Ive been more ill with the flu before, but how it affected me mentally at the time, then it's without doubt the worst illness that I've ever had and never have I ever had the breathing problems I had at the time, which put me in southmead for 3 days.. I couldn't walk more than 50 yards to my local shop without begging for my next breath on the days after the virus had technicality left my system. Ive got nerve damage in my hand that makes 4 out of my 5 fingers numb 24hrs of the day that was caused as the result of my lack of oxygen during the last week before my hospital stay.My doctor said it I had only 40% used of my lungs at the time.Ive also put 2 stone on due to steroids and other meds I was given during then by my doctor's. My lungs are fine and I'm exercising again now but I do have other long Covid effects still. Sorry to hear that IceGas, can totally see why any law breaking would make you so annoyed. Get better soon mate, there are more important things than football

You as a Health Worker condone illegal mass gatherings during a pandemic? It seems Purdown Poacher can’t make his mind up. Her mind , what ?

I stand by what I said, using my health service status to try and score political points is pretty pathetic imo. I reference it because of the pandemic and I had hoped to share info people on here might find useful. I hadn't mentioned it at all until then. If its going to be used against me I shall not bother anymore. I dont mod here, so if anyone wants to edit my post they can. And no, I won't be telling you anything. You as a health worker ought to know better than anyone the dangers of mass gatherings at this time. Your attitude is atrocious and if you went to this demo then shame on you. Christ and you have the audacity to call others patronising.

Christ and you have the audacity to call others patronising. That’s not patronising, that’s utter surprise a health worker would condone such activity, especially as (s)he would have seen first hand the worse effects of Covid first hand. It would be horrifying if (s)he had admitted attending the demo. Protect the NHS. Hands Face. Space. However I do feel for you because being accused of being patronising (when you were) obviously stung and you’ve been itching to score an equaliser.

A thread for the bootlickers that enjoy seeing police attack peaceful protestors, from last night's travelling community rights protest.

Put aside your ‘health service status’ - do you condone, yes or no a mass illegal protest during a pandemic? The question couldn’t be simpler - and after asking me about my family and it’s linkage to the NHS and me giving you an honest answer you refuse to let me know what you do - ok thanks for that. BTW point me to any ‘political’ post I’ve made in this thread - or is it just your perception that as I’m openly disgusted by this protest that I’m a “flag waving Tory” and not just a straightforward law abiding citizen of this City. Imo there's no doubt that ob doesn't condone mass gatherings as he/she/it has posted plenty of times about the stupidity of people breaking lockdown distancing rules etc His postings on this thread suggest otherwise - I asked him a perfectively reasonable question - he attempted to turn it political and failed - told me in no uncertain terms to f**k off - & btw the only angry, abusive (unmoderated) expletive used on this particular thread and also declined (which is his right) to expand on his role in the NHS. A professional - I don’t think so. Disclaimer, (i do not know or have a clue as to who ob is i don't normally agree with a lot of their posts, however on this occasion i believe what i posted ,his answers to anyone on covid have been prompt and helpful, right enough nicey nicey from me normal service will be resumed asap)

Splendid action from the Police and should have been deployed on Sunday evening to kick the filthy scum from our streets. Dirty, filthy stinking benefit scrounging crud.

I answered your question, I dont think the right to protest should be removed. Do I think its a stupid thing to do for covid? Clearly. You can comment all you like about my 'professionalism', I couldn't care less about what some anonymous entity on a football forum thinks about how I do my job, particularly after using it to goad me.

Not the first time you’ve confused yourself. Trying to remember I time you haven’t actually.

On timing Because WE, those of us who believe in the freedom of association and assembly, as enshrined in law by an act of Parliament in 1998, must make our voices heard when a government is attempting to put pressure on those rights by wishing to pass onto the statute book a law which gives the police the power to arrest us for being a "nuisance". Sleep walk into tyranny if you wish, some of us refuse to.

I see that today the police are rolling back on the claims of serious injury to their officers from the weekend demo.
Not helpful when they exaggerate thus feeding the frenzy.

It’s not a new law being arrested for being a nuisance either that one has been doing the rounds for years especially at football matches but maybe in a different wording. Just a question as I genuinely don’t know the answer but how many protests over the years have resulted in an overturn in result for what said protest is about? I know it’s a left wing thing but why can’t you lot Just live and let live and behave? if you don’t and break the law you can have no complaints if punished whatever the bill is.

There should’ve been no frenzy in the first place it was all self inflected. Full stop. What is puzzling is Why is there all this jumping on the bandwagon in England nowadays and following like lost pathetic sheep the protests in America? This country is ticking over and trying to get over the worst obstacle we have faced since WW2 and all we have is left wing copy cat protests like the Americans, it really is odd to want to disrupt your own country in the name of whatever and be proud to do it.

Is it a left/right problem though? Not really looked at the footage for this event but the idea of peaceful protest is one synonymous with this country, something to be proud of. If people didn't protest then nothing would have changed. As for the recent events, we don't yet know who was involved, it could be left wing protesters, could be right wing protesters, could be just people with pent up frustration after a year of lockdown or even just those looking for a fight with the police.
