No Marshy, it's not that simple... It's pretty much the biggest insult you could give me You have called me a shithead..so apologize for it As you don’t seem to be letting it go / taking it somewhere else as requested by two mods now and as Marshy has done, I think it’s best if you serve a short one week ban. Don’t like doing it but if the match day threads are to be ruined by incessant bickering as mods we feel it’s the best course of action, in order to get the best user experience for everyone.

You’re not helping, you little rascal! Anyway back to the game: I thought we were a bit unlucky and worthy of a point, nothing in it really and a fluke goal decided it. So I’m not getting too down about it, we will be fine and comfortably survive. UTG!

People blaming either grant or day for the goal today are half right. It’s up to the keeper and whoever is on that front post to be clear about shouts. I reckon neither of them shouted so they’re both at blame. These things happen particularly when you’ve got a new keeper but the most important thing is that Day and the defence get together this week and sort it. As a defender I was always taught unless the keeper clearly shouts you clear the ball and ask questions afterwards so whilst I see where your coming from I think Grant needs to take responsibility and clear his lines. Either way it's an absolutely awful goal to give away I’ve played as a keeper all of my life so whilst I tend to agree I’m also aware that Grant is young and ( in my opinion) not very good. In those situations if I don’t trust the man on the front post to put his life on the line I give a massive shout either way. Like I said as long as they sort it out and it doesn’t happen again.

Watched a different game to me. Charlton put two on Hanlan & it was tough for him. Ayunga had a lot more space but his close control is just nowhere near good enough for League 1. The body language of our midfield (Westbrooke in particular) said it all really. Ayunga can't hold the ball or control the ball coming into him with back to goal. Charlton knew it & tried to cut Hanlon out & force the ball towards Ayunga. Yeah we did see different games, both were tightly marked but Ayunga won some headers passed to a Rovers shirt a few times and created our best chance of the game for Hanlan who was unmarked 8 yards out. Hanlan was terrible. I’ve got nothing against Hanlan I think he’s been one of our best players of the season but today he was way off it and either lost the ball or ended up on his arse or both. As for Westbrookes body language that hasn’t been very good all season and whilst I think we’ve got a good playmaker there with potential to be very good he needs to learn how to play football when his teams not in possession. He reminds me of a young Chris Lines. I thought Mc Cormick was our best player today and he was subbed which I thought was strange and any chance of an equaliser was diminished once he was subbed. We agree on these two points!

Surely, none of us liked watching that ?. We were awful; Grant watching the ball roll into the net direct from the corner summed the match up. Unfortunately, there is no goals in the team, and we really miss Daly and particularly Nicholson. For me Tisdale, has had enough time to look at the squad; he was brought in to take the team to the next level, not relegation. Time to start earning his wages, bring in some decent player during the window, set the team up to win, stop making crazy substitutions, and start taking responsibility during interview's for the position BRFC are finds itself in the league. We stau in the league this season I will be very happy, surely not too much to ask for.

It’s one of the down sides of watching the game on ifollow, I reckon if you would of been at the game, you would of got a clearer idea of who was at fault from shouts and facial expressions. I think it’s a bit harsh on Day to give him too much blame because you kind of expect the man on the post to be dealing with a ball at that height and not let in spin into the near post. A completely farcical goal to concede. Grant let’s the game pass him by so I’m not surprised he left it. Ogogo would have put it out for a throw or another corner. Grant has potential but I feel we’re flogging him as a defensive midfielder he’s not good enough for this level yet to protect a back four.

Not looking for a scapegoat but Westbrooke does my head in shirks most 50/50 balls or contact, ok may not be his game but when your looking for your team to roll their sleeves up its disappointing, offered nothing today with his distribution either, so overall a poor game. Couldn't agree more. Was driving me mad with the way he kept pulling out of tackles. We don't expect our players to be world beaters but 100% effort and application should be a given. Today westbrooke did not deliver on these fronts and his body language made this even more apparent to me.

I guess it all comes down to knowing your teammates and understandably Day doesn't have that knowledge yet. As for Grant there is potential there but I'm not convinced we need both him & Upson in the same side if we're setting up with a diamond, if we're playing 4231 that's a different matter but not sure we needed both the way we set up today.

Well said outsidehitter30. Ayunga was woeful and well out of his depth, unable to hoild it and win headers. Yet Sam Frost gives him 7 out of 10. What did he watch

Not a great performance but personally feel we’ll have enough once Nicholson & Oztumer are back to stay up; especially if we add some more quality up front this month.
Bet Tisdale can’t wait to get to work on his squad over the summer - more experience, pace & physicality needed throughout the side.

A bit of drama on a match thread without me involved. What can I say to stir it up 🤔

FWIW my thoughts on the game - we played ok but not spectacular. Charlton were average. The game was very even and a draw would have been a fair result. The goal conceded was a fluke and whilst Aneke had 2 clear cut chances and Bogle had a decent chance that was well saved - we had 3 or 4 decent efforts that we should have done better with ( Hanlan and Ayunga hitting the side netting, Kilgours header, Barrett’s acrobatic effort and Hanlans shot wide)... I thought all players played ok but Day, McCormack, Kilgour, Baldwin, Upson, Leahy and Grant played well. Overall we lost unluckily and those people predicting relegation and saying we are a bottom 4 team are wide of the mark Agree with this and your other comments for today. Lets all remember when there have been days when we have had one or zero chances. Not the greatest fan of Barrett, but unlike Westbrooke, he seems to want the ball AND is prepared to run at players - have a go. We seemed reluctant to "have a shot" today, perhaps because the Thatchers End wasn't screaming that at the players. Yes good point - we did seem reluctant to take a shot, especially an early one. We seemed to always want to take that extra touch or try an extra pass....

Surely Tutonda and Ogogo should feature v Crewe ( Just over half an hour away for me normally.)Think a few will be loaned out now in order to bring in one or two to add some desperately needed quality.

He won his fair share of headers, had a late shot blocked that looked like it was going in and and created the best chance we had all game. I think we have to remember he's stepped up 3(?) divisions and this was his first league start. A lot for him to work on but I'm certainly not writing him off after one start

Day - 7 At Fault for the Goal Hare - 7 Okay First half Harries - 7 Close up the hole when he came on! Kilgour - 7.5 Fairly solid first half Baldwin - 6.5 Struggled and got turned a bit too often. Leahy - 7.5 Had a good game and was pretty solid today. didn't get forward enough today (unlike the mid-week game) Grant - 7.0 Did what he was asked to do! an Okay Game Rodman - 6.5 Only this low because he was subbed on 30 mins too late Upson - 7.0 Thought he had a solid game within the remit of how he's being asked to play. Westbrooke - 6.5 Not his best game & let his frustrations with strikers show. McCormick - 8 Best player by far. Very good game almost felt like we were conceding the match seeing him subbed off - MOM Barrett - 7 Did nothing when he came on. Would have preferred to see him alongside McCormick instead of replacing him. Hanlan - 5.5 Tough day at the office - marked out of the game today Ayunga - 3 Woeful! Woeful! & out of his depth Pretty much agree with these scores although I think you’re being a tad harsh on the strikers. Thought both were quiet and had difficult but ok games. I’d personally give Hanlan 6.5 and Ayunga 6 and I’d up Baldwin to 7. Score for Barrett is right but comment I’d say for him is some nice touches and a couple of decent passes but didn’t really influence or change the game.

That was such a hard watch after last Saturday, admittedly the shiteness of iFollow didn’t help vs the joy of BT, but we just looked so disjointed. Agree could’ve gone either way and very little quality from either side tbh. Very frustrating to get undone with a goal like that, especially at home. Bit fed up, but not gonna meltdown

Agreed. 4222 what kind of formation is that. If we’re going to do something like narrow formation then you have to have wing backs bombing forward which mean 352. Today was neither it was sh**e

Tutonda is clearly far to attack minded for Tisdale, it's baffling how he waited until the 88th minute to bring on Rodman when we never looked like scoring. Like last season I'm now once again just waiting for this one just to end so we can remain an L1 side, it's hard to believe GC had us in the play off spots just over a year ago. Tisdale needs a good January/end to the season or we could be looking for yet another manager this summer.

Never troubled their keeper, not much difference than Garnerball, thought Alfie should have scored with that header but they missed a sitter late on.
Gonna make some T shirts " No super sammy no party!"
