Im guessing he vote remain. I beleive quite a few Scottish fishermen did (wonder if their is a noticeable North/South divide on fishing) This and the other clip (even if he or they voted leave). How are the Government going to sort this. Can they not sell in the UK market?

I think it’s more the case of different species for different markets . I’m no expert on fish by any means but from what I’ve heard is U.K. customers don’t want to buy certain fish ..... hence why they’re sold into the EU . We might be able to sell them here but for a lot less than EU . The bottom line is the fisher folk don’t seem very happy.... at all.

Yeah I get that however,I believe there is a high demand for langoustines in the UK,must be higher margins in the EU,would be better if they could accept reduced margin along with reduced costs to market as well as being better for the environment.

Even allowing for journalistic licence, is this for real? From the Indy:
"Downing Street has said Boris Johnson maintains confidence in the fisheries minister after she admitted not reading the post-Brexit trade deal with Brussels when it was agreed because she was busy organising a Nativity trail.
Victoria Prentis faced calls for her to quit after the comments, but the Prime Minister is standing by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) minister.
Asked if her jaw had dropped when she saw the deal with the EU on Christmas Eve, Ms Prentis told the Lords EU Environment Sub-Committee: "No, the agreement came when we were all very busy on Christmas Eve, in my case organising the local Nativity trail.
"We had been waiting and waiting, it looked like it was coming for probably four days before it actually arrived.
"I, for one, had gone through, as I'm sure members of this committee had, a gamut of emotions over those four days."
A Number 10 spokesperson told the PA news agency that the Prime Minister had confidence in Ms Prentis.

They've obviously been told to do this, what a bunch of pathetic wrist jockeys. You seriously wanted to remain a part of a regime like that?

Haha you can almost guess Oldgas’ reply before he posts it ! Fancy other countries having the temerity to control their own borders and what comes in and out of the country . Meanwhile for over a yr flights have come into this country from all over the world in the middle of a global pandemic

Schengen is about people rather than trade, but they have a load of treaties which make them EEA in all but name. Things should settle down in time, but I suspect it's little incidents like this which will make people less content with the situation rather than the actual business of trading.

I mean, I can get why some people would argue it's petty, we only left 2 weeks ago, but at what point is 'acceptable' for the EU to enforce the rules we signed up to?

Bloody politicians.

Bet he was one of the first out there 4 years ago with his Union Jack flag, screaming how great it will be to be rid of Brussels. Thick twat. No sympathy from me at all. I agree that’s it’s really really hard to feel sorry for these sort of people but they were conned. Slowly but surely more and more folk will begin to realise we were better off in ( apart from the real head bangers like oldgas!) . The way he comes across though I feel like I’m more informed than he is- he complains about the French in our waters but we sold our rights off to them. Then tried to claim them back as part of the Brexit talks! If your livelihood depends on the EU market you would think they would do their due diligence. Obviously keeping EU migrants out means more to him than keeping his business in operation, so like Baggins says- no sympathy.
