As anybody seen enough of Little to suggests he adds anything to the defence? I can't see we'll ever see him at RB, or even at CB, if we're hoping on him getting fully fit and Ayunga scoring goals to keep us up then we really are in trouble.

I fear if we persist with 5 at the back we’ll be in big trouble this season. Let’s just hope this was BG coaches picking the side this week!
Hoping for better but that certainly wasn’t the attacking football we were promised by Tisdale and Starnes.

Do the coaching staff know what they r doing picking that side with no Oztumer If the defenders are instructed to belt the ball as far up the pitch as possible whenever they get it then having Otzumer in the side is pointless anyway. Today was total anti-football. A really poor display.

We're f**ked whatever in all honesty. Honestly don't think the players are anywhere near good enough and I fear that the manager won't be either.
L2 here we come.

Woeful today. Others have said the same but Hanlan, Nicholson and McCormick were the pick. My heart sank when I saw Upson was playing. Without Westbrooke and with Hare barely getting forward a lot of our attacking threat had gone. Swindon were awful and for out goalie to be at fault for the goal just sums up what a bad day it was. Roll on the next game. Agree. Those were my 3 best players as well. GGHI will be glad you spelt their names right. I’m on the naughty step for spelling them wrong!😥😥😥 UTG!

First half the problem was obvious Hare and Tutonda had 2 players against them and so had to stay back . This meant swindon had the advantage defending and the overlap when playing down the wings. That was rectified half time but really they should have taken harries off for Westbrook then. Going 442. Unlucky with Nicholson hitting the post. To sum it up. Kilgour was too green for pitman. Hare and Tutonda ineffective and mistake prone due to pressure on them. McCormick battled all game. Upson was error laden early doors but grew into the game. Grant did well. Ehmer and jaakola were proficient Hanla started well but drifted out of the game second half. Nicholson whilst giving the ball away a couple of times was an attacking threat Harries...hmm do to want to be hard on him but due to him being more comfortable on the ball meant he got it more and therefore made more poor passes. Team played a different game today and it was a scrappy game. Rovers could have won but they lost. Need to settle down midweek against Wigan and start to be more alive to the final ball and spills etc. Shame to lose but didnt fall asleep watching triangles at least.a Good post, among the reactive stuff, good to read some thoughts about the game. UTG!

Biggest disgrace is the over reaction on this forum. Disappointing performance today from the boys but this is football and it happens, whether you support Man Utd, Barcelona or Bristol Rovers. Makes me embarrassed to call myself a Gashead reading some of the nonsense on here tonight.

For me I think he saw the fact we conceded 10 goals in the last 4 games and set a target for a clean sheet. This failed for him unfortunately but having a quick look at the stats our back 3 defenders didn’t make a tackle however our DMs put in 6 so maybe this was an attempt at getting that shield working better.
At first raw reaction I was horrified at the line up and disappointed with the result as I just wanted the Wednesday performance again with another boat load of shots and attacking play.
But I guess if you look at it from trying to plug the holes at the back perspective then maybe the starting line up and overall play made sense even though it was dire.
If I am honest though I am struggling to pick some positives today as I wanted to really get at Swindon here as they are very beatable and I wanted goals.
Next up is Wigan and I must admit I am not full of my usual optimism following this display. I do hope we try the all out attack again, at least that was entertainment

I’ve been watching the Gas for nearly 30 years and that would be typical Rovers. Rovers - ending losing streaks for 25 years.

I don’t mind losing but not to a water poor side like Swindon who were there 4 the taking not sure what my biggest fear is this season the lack of goals only 11 scored our defence unable 2 defend set pieces

Firstly, I didn’t see today’s game so can’t & won’t comment on the performance - although it sounds abysmal. Secondly, it goes without saying that it’s way, way too early to be judging Tisdale & how his 2.5 years (hopefully...) here will go. BUT, I can’t disagree with anyone on here who’s been critical of the starting XI & in-game subs. I’m fairly sure that everyone on this forum would have brought Oztumer off the bench today when we were chasing the game - so to not do that & bring on a CB instead is a bizarre decision to say the least. And if he didn’t know before today, I’m sure Tis now realises what a mammoth job he has on his hands to keep us in L1 this season. On paper it looked like the most inexperienced, goal-shy & physically-weak squad we’ve put together in my 27 years as a Gashead, and all those things are, unsurprisingly, really hurting us. The balance in this squad is appalling & if Tisdale isn’t backed in January I really do fear for us this season. Such a depressing post, this was supposed to be a play off fighting season - but sadly I'm starting to think you're right. I do believe our squad is good, but like you say - incredibly unbalanced. If someone can get them playing together, I think with an addition here and there we could be really good, I just hope that man is PT. Tbh I felt back in the summer that any shouts of us competing for a play off spot this season were absolutely wild. We had one of the most unproven managers in the EFL & what’s got to be THE most unproven set of strikers in the entire EFL (and not enough of them, at that). On paper L1 looks tougher than it has for a long time with the amount of big clubs in the league this season, and I fear we’re severely under-equipped for what could turn into a lengthy relegation fight - with very little experience in the squad & no reliable goalscorer/s.

Makes me embarrassed to call myself a Gashead reading some of the nonsense on here tonight. I’m glad you find a totally inept playing and management performance to a bottom of the league side who have conceded an average of 2.1 goals per game so utterly acceptable. Look at the league table, in case you’ve missed it, we’re 21st.

No one minds losing as long as you show fight, character and create chances to get something from the game. When you roll over and have you tummy tickled it kind of annoys everyone.

We look to be in a spot of bother that's for sure, I keep hearing about this most talented squad, talented at what? At this moment in time past games suggest a very poor defence, bang average midfield with no absolute ball winner/play maker and a forward line that find shots on target few and far between let alone goals! I am not wishing to add to the negative just stating the facts as I see them, its gonna be squeaky bum time if Tis doesn't manage to turn the situation around pretty quick.
