When you have no strikers on the bench game after game . You realise WHY the board allowed garner to put together the most unbalanced squad I ever witness in 40 years. We have a situation were some players in midfield might never get a game . We have not 1 or 2 but 4 left backs. My concern is hanlan will get burntout and we will have to use emergency strikers from other areas. We still got 10 games to window and 1 fit tired overused striker. It's frustrating because this was coming and everyone could see it !! Spot on. I really don’t get the whole “ garners left us in very good shape “ I think that’s Rubbish. WeVe got four left backs, 3 strikers of which only one is fit, boat loads of defenders and midfielders , hardly any experienced leaders and very little quality throughout the entire squad. Our best hope for this season would be go back to basics and play to our strengths the problem is I’m not sure what this squads strengths are I’m not sure that we even have any. The window can’t come soon enough and what Tisdale does in it combined with whether he can make some sense of this squad will make or break our season. Don’t we have a head of recruitment? What’s he doing if it’s garner identifying the players to bring in? Paying a guy just to negotiate contracts is not even a full time or half time job, surely?

Widdrington said the other day that he looks into players we sign on what sort of character they have, well who ever does that for him has had his pants down, no of them seem to break into a sweat they really do not seem like Rovers players to me, we have had some dross over the years but some have gone on and had really good careers with shear effort and balls , these lot don’t give a sh**e they got their 2/3 year contracts, they have already got Garner the sack, Tisdale will be next unless he sorts some of them out straight away It's just my opinion but this is rubbish. The players all tried and battled all game . Nobody went missing. It just didnt work today. Players made mistakes , passes went astray , runs were misread . The team played a different way today as they did midweek against Chelsea. They dont fully understand their roles and disciplines yet. Rovers could have as easily snuck a win as to slip to defeat. Swindon didnt make rovers look poor at any point. You obviously watched a different game to me. To say all the players battled and no one went missing is an absolute joke. We were dire, Swindon not much better but deserved their win. All our players deserved is to have their wages stopped for a week. No doubt our new Managers mind is already made up about three or four of those clowns.

Thought we were unlucky to lose.
Poor game. Lost possession too easily. Scrappy. Kilgour still looks weak with the ball. Ehmer still looks not a captain. I liked Upson contribution and variety in set piece dead ball deliveries. An out of character mistake by Jaak and all too familiar defender non marking married with an unfortunate referee decision conspired our downfall.....if Harries had not been substituted before, would he have cleared or market Sh*tman better? Nicholson sometimes looks unplayable. So does Hanlan.
McCormick everywhere.... involved in most moves, like his work ethic, commitment and ideas. My m o m.
Tis gets a pass on this one.... really like the formation change to diamond (just not the initial personnel that implemented it) and the idea to sub Westbrooke for Harries whom appeared decidedly unsettled with the change, it was a good idea to force change. Not too keen on two defensive subs and reversion when 1-0 down, but maybe there was reason for that?
We really need something at Wigan.
It's a work in progress, Tis has his work cut out, hope he gets the support from staff around him and brings some stable new ideas to the table. As ever, jury is out for me.

After that performance and lack of any coherent game plan, I would have liked Tisdale to have called them in on Sunday so he had two sessions with them before the trip to Wigan. Is that too harsh a reaction?

It seemed to me today that they took Garnerball away (thank God) but replaced it only by enthusiasm. The team had no direction. Very early days and far too early to judge.

Ok maybe it’s Widdrington and Garners fault I don’t know. What I mean is the changes made to the squad in the time Garner was here.

Very relaxed here in my armchair Paul, knowing I did not make a 300 mile round trip to witness that horror show. Still trying to get my head around players putting in a performance like that in front of a new Manager. Something similar on Tuesday night and I think we would have seen the last of some of those same players.

Just watching the National League on B T Sport. Our bunch should be made to watch this. They might learn something about effort and some pride in the shirt. There are two teams going for it and it concerns me how we will deal with Darlington. We must be the laughing stock of the West country.
