One of the questions in that Ricketts interviews: “How important is it that you keep winning & not conceding many goals?” Christ.

Based on the comments on the 2 match day threads for the Burton game, where one also got locked, Im guessing this thread we are on now was made today (match day) and the other one was made yesterday (not match day). I think it comes down to a feeling of importance. One wanted to feel important by starting a thread and the other wanted to feel important so locked the thread. Hopefully both have now had their fix and we can move on as happy gasheads I didn’t lock the thread, but the reason for locking it was because we have a rule of no match day threads until the day of the match. We have these rules to prevent chaos in the forum and to keep it an enjoyable place to come and chat about the gas. It was felt that the advance match day threads were getting out of hand because they were being made weeks in advance in which case they lost their relevance as the forum got distracted by other matters until the day of the match and we risked having numerous match day threads for the same match. Users are encouraged to start up a buildup thread if they wish. I did momentarily lock this one until I realised we’d passed midnight!

A 3-0 victory for Ben's Boys this evening. Oh come on Tilly let the poor things have 1? And we’ll have the 3. 👍

Why was the other match thread locked? I thought it might be as the other one was stupidly early but this one was only created 2 hours later? I think you’ll find that I obeyed the rules by starting the thread on the day of the match . The other thread was 2 hrs early !

Shrewsbury away was in my top 3 favourite away games last season, just behind Ipswich & just ahead of Wimbledon.
The game had everything, two early goals (should have been 3) being pegged back before half time, retaking the 2 goal lead with a long range effort from Sercombe, somehow letting in 2 more for 3-3 (cue a stampede of youths off to our right hand side) and then a late winner right in front of us. I have to say, I’m still disappointed Ogogo didn’t go wild in celebration with the travelling Gasheads.

I think we are increasingly serious about a play off finish. Could this be the season where we end up actually in the play offs prior to Christmas and in October onwards. I think this is achievable. If you agree, then we can only expect a win this evening. I’m a positive dreamer that aims high. At some stage our play will click and bang - some team will cop it. Is tonight the night? Why not? I’m going for a Rovers win, 2-0 to build upon our dreams.

Interesting that they've not scored more than 1 goal in a league game so far. Got 0-0 written all over it, but I've got a gut feeling we're gonna fall to a defeat.

One of the questions in that Ricketts interviews: “How important is it that you keep winning & not conceding many goals?”Christ. A: "Well, it's essentially what we're all employed for. So I'd say it's reasonably important" 😂
