So under normal circumstances you could understand us losing 2-0 to Ipswich at home. That’s fine, they’re a big club, they must have a big budget.
However, the thing that bothers me is that BG was clearly playing for a draw and not even trying to change us to win the game. He was clearly happy with the manner we were playing in.
We’re not in a relegation battle yet it’s the start of the season and we shouldn’t be using excuses about playing a big team this early on.

I dont think an Ipswich player has broke a sweat. Very easy game for them. I bet they wish they can play a team with NO midfield every week. I know the defence were poor for both goals but they have been pelted by Ipswich all afternoon with no protection from the midfield Yep, they must be over the moon as looked like they came for a draw. Didn’t get out of 2nd gear. Even took off their best player

Think we can write this one off as a friendly tbh Not fair to judge him on a game with no fans tbh. Give him 10 games. Whoever sang 3 is the magic number was taking the water. 10 is the magic number! Give him 10 games and it'll be like watching Bayern Munich

So to conclude... Garner has been heavily backed in the Window .... We are NOT solid at the back ... We have one or two carrying us and a young Lad who showed promise last season now looking like a liability. Midfield is paper thin - no bite and little creativity ... Ours trongest tackler has been told to find a new Club. Striker - We have no goal threat what so ever.. This will only end one way ... If you are defending for 90 minutes you are going to concede a few eventually. Poor in midfield, being too lightweight, can't believe Ogogo isn't being considered and Upson is in the starting 11.

Sunderland say we time waste 😂😂 Ipswich 2-0 taking it into the corner flag. F*cking embarrassing Ipswich. Also grant has been lazy and sh*t today Not a patch on Ogogo and other than free kicks which have been decent westbrooke looks poor and not as good as even an out of form Sercombe. Ehmer hasn’t looked particularly good and what the f**k happened today with that header ?!!

Where are you Wael? - what is the plan? Starnes on the phone around 83 mins apparently. Durden quipped about it being about transfers. I bloody hope it was Wael pulling the trigger Long way away from that yet. I suspect Wael will want to save face so will give golden bollocks plenty of time to figure out how to manage a team.

That was just nothing somewhere between sh** and really Dam sh**! What’s happened to Garnerball? My god I’m gonna need a few more stellas to get over that debacle!

Not sure if anyone else agrees but the similarities between this team and DC's team in his last season seem so scary to me.
Both had great windows signing players who were very vouched for by their respective fanbases; Upson, Matthews, THD, Rodman, Matthews etc vs Westbrooke, Grant, Ehmer, Nicholson etc.
Both will probably talk solely about missed chances when it comes to pressers "oh we missed this chance and this chance, if we'd have scored it'd have been a completely different game."
Both had fans hyped of a playoff/top half finish, both were ridiculously underwhelming.
Both were very capable of getting good draws against top teams, but when it came to actually winning games both seem useless
Both had awful form post-December of the previous season
Both very clearly lack major attacking threat after selling their key asset.
Maybe I am being a bit premature, and I'll need to see how we play against the likes of Northampton, because we did start very poorly last season under Coughlan, but then again we were playing very well when he took over, unlike Garner.
Also seen comparisons with DC in the Conference, which I would say were valid if the key wasn't the fact we'd dropped down a league. We're still in the same league that Garner was awful in last season.
I am truly, truly worried about this team. I don't think we've played as awfully as under other managers i've witnessed us under, but the similarities between this season and Clarke's last seem so striking to me, wonder if anyone else agrees?

Don't think he understands this league. Its going to be a long season. Westbrooke played out of position and looked poor today - no fight in mid field and defence could only hit long balls. It thought we are meant to play out from the back.

Probably good job nobody was there because i think the atmosphere is going to be pretty toxic after last season,i willing to wait another month to see if things gell before i join the garner out mob, but from what i have seen we look water poor.

Lets give him 10 more games. After next week. Or maybe the week after. Garner will come good. If we lose every game this season, will the season count?
