Just a quick glance at the Championship table, which has Leeds, West Brom, Fulham, Forest, Derby, Preston, Blackburn, QPR, Sheffied Wednesday, Birmingham, Stoke, Charlton and Middlesbrough all far bigger clubs than Bristol City. Being 12th in The Championship should be seen as a good season for them. They've always been weirdly delusional. Any chance they could get relegated?

On that basis if it doesn't work out for Garner we should go for Gerrard or Lennon as they would be used to managing at L1 standard. Now they reckon Thierry Henry would be a good shout. Delusions of grandeur spring to mind. Did you see the post on OTIB saying fans of all other clubs were thick? Did you see the one that said "The problem with Rovers is they want to be us" I'd rather be more like Mangotsfield then that lot

True, but after a great first European campaign last year they.... oh hang on, what do you mean they aren’t competing in Europe?! But the 5 year plan said...

Just out of interest and because there seasons have tended to mirror our neighbours i.e., looking like top 6 contenders at least, before falling away , i had a look at P.N.E. Forum to see what the reaction to another missed opportunity was. While it is fair to say there is discontent with Alex Neil and some want change it was by no means unanimous. Many were blaming lack of training facilities and a decent striker, (sounds familiar! )Makes me wonder why they did not try to sign someone like the Snake, who was never really given a chance at City, surely worth a gamble if they are serious about premiership ambitions .Also interesting to note that Billy bob only started 11 games and was subbed in 9 of those as far as i can tell, injuries? or not considered good enough? Perhaps he would welcome a return to the Mem, what's a few hundred quid a week if your not playing!

I hate them, but City are better supported club then Preston Blackburn, Charlton. Are on the same level as West brom, Fulham, QPR, Stoke..
I don't like it when clubs like Preston,Bury, Bolton,Blackpool, hudersfield Burnley (I know current prem) and Blackburn...(I know won prem in 95) are thought of as huge clubs.Sorry they are not.Burnley can't sell out 20k in the prem.City get 22k in the championship!
Just because they won league titles and FA cups over a hundred years ago does mean that are big clubs, rather have richer history's before money came into football.
City are a club from the the 6th/7th largest place in the UK and have far larger potential for fan growth then those clubs.City could sell 35k/40k a week if in the prem, as could we if we could get the club there one day.
I base a club's size by
1st: its fanbase size and potential for growth.
2: Current stadium and set up
3: Current League level playing at
3: Then History
........
City are a top 12 championship side and have a premiership set up,are from a huge city in the UK.And any manager outside the premiership would look at the BCFC job and be interested.

Not sure Leads, WBA's manager's etc would look at the City job or for that matter any out of work Premiership managers? If Ryan Lowe was/ still is(?) the favourite then that hardly sounds like they can attract the best manager's outside of the Premiership? In fact the bookies favourites list is totally uninspiring, Pulis is on there FFS!

Curious that their last handful of managerial appointments reads; Lee Johnson, Steve Cotterill, Sean O’Driscoll, Derek McInnes, Keith Millen, Gary Johnson & Brian Tinnion. Some huge names there.

The 82ers have gone on alot since those names above,or even since mini Johnson took the job. Most of those took over when City were in L1, or during there first run for nearly 10 years in championship at the old Ashton Gate. That club BCFC (We might not like it) have go on to premiership level with there ground, crowds and investment..They were not at that position when any of the above got there jobs. A different level of person would go for the job now, against then. The above is why we need the Fruit market or another to happen more than ever.

Whose said anything about being huge clubs? I think you've gone on a bit a weird rant here. The clubs i've mentioned have throughout Football history all been better supported than City, most still have better stadiums with bigger capacity's, all still playing at the same level and all have richer historys. So even by your own logic are far bigger clubs.

And of course they'd be right, counting amongst their number some of the thickest, dumbest of S. Bristols finest, they know better than anyone the meaning of thick. I have achieved the distinction of getting a mention on their mammoth thread, by none other than the memorable Peter O'Hanra-Hanrahan. Beat that! yeah and they still love me as well Maybe they’re worried you’ll meddle with their computer network next time you go to Ashton Gate to work on them
