You guessed it! Race!
Tell me you see the irony in that?
Ps, I don’t know anything about NFL, as 99% of the UK doesn’t, but 35 games doesn’t sound very superstar to me. I also don’t remember seeing Barton being the 3rd main news article on bbc news page as I check it every day, do you have any proof?

I’ve never heard of him , like probably 99% of the uk public. Perhaps that’s why the bbc ain’t covering it ! Yet our own manager was 3rd on the news page a few weeks ago in terms of news story's on the BBC website given his holocaust remark even tho it was taken out of context. Don't you tell me more people know JB worldwide then they do Zac Stacey today? I'm an NFL fan and he is a big star. And BBC is the biggest news organization in the world, and they chose to jump all over the JB story,as they will with his court case against his wife ( even tho today there is no proof this happened) yet with Zac Stacey there is CCTV footage of him bashing his GF yet nothing on BBC or Sky .. meet me half way. Nope . Because nobody over here has heard of this bloke , it’s quite simple. Not sure why you’re so upset it’s not a news story in the UK ? ( well , actually I’ve got a pretty good idea 🙄)

I ask you to spend an HR in New York and get 5 people that are not British, would know who JB is? I'm not upset about anything just pointing out something based on race which this thread is about if you follow it's content. Also, watch what road you go alone with that that rolled eyed emoji...

You’ll have to point out the slanderous part of my post , that is unless you’re suggesting using an emoji is slanderous? 🙄

So because he’s black, let’s make this about race?
This has nothing to do with his skin colour, only you have done that IceGas.

Nope....I pointed out that BBC as well as sky never covered a HUGE USA story about female abused victim by a black sportsman.I questioned why when the JB case will be all over both of there websites and channels in a few weeks time they are not treated the same. This thread is about racial abuse, it's about covering a legit story on a white woman getting beat up by a huge US sportsman, and why it's seems not worthy of news coverage by the UK media.

You answered your own question, because it’s UK media. It’s a domestic abuse case in the USA where 99% of people here have never heard of either of them, but because you’ve heard of one of them - you’re claiming the BBC is a corrupt organisation. What does it have to do about her being white? Why are you making this about skin colour? Who cares if she’s white or he’s black? The top 5 news website in the USA are 1. Yahoo 2. NBC 3. CBS 4. CNN 5. CNBC Considering this is “HUGE news in the US” and he’s a “superstar” - guess what? Not one of those websites even had the article in the homepage. Not a single one. You have made up a scenario where because he’s black and she is white, it’s “racial abuse” when it’s just abuse. The fact that you’re suggesting he did it because he’s black and she is white is in itself, racist.

Not sure what driving has to do with anything but hey ho , maybe I got it wrong . As for this basketball player or whatever he does , nobody in the UK has heard of him apart from avid US sports fans .

However I do agree this does come across as faux outrage, never heard of him and not surprised it wasn't covered. A Google search shows it was in the UK print media and their websites.

You do realise that bbc news website news might have different headlines in different countries don’t you ? Just like other sites like google , apple news etc

My point is why is it not newsworthy, like any other large News company of the worlds website or TV network in the world. Just a simple question. As for Barton being 3rd or 4th in the most viewed stories that day, I cant find a link to that ( not that I know of but Ive looked) on the BBC website, but if you searched the thread on here about JB Holocaust comments then I know for a fact that it was brought up in there and that it was one of the most looked at stories at the time. Tell me the difference between why JB and his Holocaust comments, as well as him going to court in the next month has/will get BBC coverage and a black NFL superstar bashing his GF has not had any? Nothing about race, its about fairness and justice.

Designed to get eyes on the stories . put it this way , Mo Salah scores a last minute winner for Liverpool in a big game , it’s big news in the UK , it’s big news in Egypt , it hardly registers in the USA or Australia etc .

To be fair, I get to see and hear lots of news articles from all over the World via the BBC, and I've never heard of any of those involved so to say not being well known over here is a good reason not to put the story out isn't entirely true. I've also seen the footage, and it's pretty horrific, and seeing as violence against Women has very much been in the news recently I'm surprised it hasn't even been touched upon.
We had the OJ trial pretty much forced upon us for months and no-one knew who he was either.

Did the Joey Barton story first appear on the bbc website After he was officially charged or before ? I’ve no idea . Maybe this is why this bloke we’ve never heard of isn’t on there yet 🤷♂️
