Sorry Axegas, you're clutching at straws mate. We are going backwards. The bloke was allowed to sign a lot of players in Jan. Way more than what I thought he would. We had a decent enough team already here who were 4th in the league. You've got to work with what you have too. We lack bite, creativity, we're poor defensively, no spirit, 1 win since he's been here. Why should we keep him? The fact that we are probably not going to get relegated is not a good enough reason for me. Its hard to remain positive after watching that sh** show, I accept that. I was genuinely bored out of my mind watching parts today. I’m just not going to allow myself to lose long term perspective and go away from what I’ve been saying all along which is the man needs a summer transfer window and a pre season to implement what is a radically different approach to what we’ve had in recent years. All the things you say we lack right now, the bite, the creativity, the defensive attributes, they can be amended with a good transfer window let’s not forget that. Also I’d say that the majority of the players that are letting us down right now are members of the old guard that Garner inherited. ie Clarke, Upson, Leahy, Clarke-Harris. What is with all this "It's a long term plan" rubbish? What single indication is there that there is even one scintilla of development towards anything? He keeps talking about his long term plan, which is what? Go on the longest run of bad form you possibly can so the law of averages mean you have to win? It's nonsense. If I go into work and continually get the basics completely and utterly wrong I can't say to my boss "Ah but don't lose long term perspective - this is all part of a long term plan!"

I'm worried - where is gashead1981?
Surely he will pop up to defend the Board and Garner? and offer wise words.

Poor Ben Garner he is completely out of his depth, Waq & Hani should do the honourable thing and cut BG adrift asap.

Cannot work out what mitchell-lawson and ginelly are supposed to be doing? I was expecting them to give us width and pace but they are so narrow and yet never really support clarke-harris. Frustrating. We excepted an offer for menayese from mansfield but prefer him to harries who we signed on a long contract? Where was barrett? Is holmes-dennis fit? if he is he surely must play? So baffling.

However if it was a management position, someone’s tasked with the control of 50 people and they said that they have a long term vision for the office, and that they want to completely overhaul the way they do things but it will take time. That’s something that happens a fair bit. Garner’s single scintilla is his opening interview where he lays out what his plans are with football club and how he wants to develop it. A plan that most fans took toward and which given the summer can be achieved.

Haven't read through this thread I can pretty much guess at it's contents & save myself the heartache !! Whilst I've been supportive of BG I can't defend that performance, completely inept clueless lethargic & that's being kind. Where do we go from here, I genuinely don't think he'll be sacked or walk away so those hoping for a change I think will be disappointed. We desperately lacked someone in the middle of the pitch to take the game by the scruff of the neck and both Clarke & Upson were miles off it. Yes BG set the team up and in fairness he shouldered the blame in his interview but he's been badly let down by the players today. He's got nothing to lose by making wholesale changes for next week we can't play any worse, although I thought for the most part we defended ok could any of the starting 11 (bar Blackman) really complain about being left out, probably not.

Plenty of really good teams play one up top and in theory we have three forwards but like i said cannot work out what the wide forwards are trying to do in our set up?

Have to say I agree 100%. That was painful sitting there in the freezing wind watching that mind-numbing, awful, awful crap...It reminded me of the very worst of Atkins, Buckle and Graydon era football and that's scary. I never thought I would witness such turgid crap again. obviously Garner doesn't set out to have his team serve up such dire shyte, and I made sure I left 5 mins from the end because I knew if I stayed until the final whistle I would have booed him and he players off, which is something I don't want to do.

Time? How much time do you want to gvie the bloke? There are literally no positives right now. Let's be fair, Garner was the cheap option, and there cannot be many cheaper than him? He may not have been the cheap option if Wael was seduced by his supposed Prem pedigree. To me he certainly carried an unacceptable degree of risk. If he has any decency about him he should recognise that he has failed miserably and should resign immediately. Ollie Clarke is his interview said that this performance should be swept under the carpet. No Ollie, No. I want to hear you come on the radio and rage at the utter disgrace that you and your team continue to produce and pledge to the Supporters that you will do your utmost to turn this around and drive us forward because Ben Garner certainly cannot deliver in any shape or form. You are the Captain, so bloody well act like one.

That was grim today. The gloom all round the ground was obvious. The South stand looked deserted. No singing from the Thatchers.
It felt like everyone expected us to lose, and, not wishing to disappoint, BG made sure we did.
My piglets sausage roll was nice though.
I can't see what rabbits BG can pull out of hats now to produce a transformed team come August.
