It's amazing to think that in the 16th century they used to think that the world was round....

BJ’s conundrum! Got a new (well second hand actually) big coffee table (it’s got a map o th world on it 😃), now I is watching a movie with a drink on table, jes put my feet on table an it’s not comfy on ma heels 🙁 so I though I’d get my pouffe , but where do I put th coffee table ffs , is it one or th other? What would you do? Go to Aldi and buy a load of their cheap beer and spirits. Drop a peanut on the coffee table and drink whatever beverage is nearest to the country the nut lands on. Repeat until you can no longer feel your legs. Thank me in the morning.

What would you do? This is pretty much my preferred combo for an evening drinking with snacks, otherwise known as Monday to Sunday. I'm not claiming to be the first person ever to think of this arrangement.

If anyone else is wondering: Lobster Thermidor is a French dish of lobster meat cooked in a rich wine sauce, stuffed back into a lobster shell, and browned. The sauce is often a mixture of egg yolks and Brandy (such as Cognac), served with an oven-browned cheese crust, typically Gruyère. Sadly you don't see on menus very often these days........

Mini pióra cheese. Basically macaroni cheese made with Polish pasta. The pasta is a lot heavier than commercial pastas available in the UK, and is more akin to spätzle you get in Germany. In fact this very much reminds me of a dish I had a Stuttgart Oktoberfest called Käsespätzle (amazing that i actually remember that). Available from a Polish supermarket near you....
