Signs a player and brings him on in the 89th minute. FFS. Not having a go at you pirate, but you were his biggest advocate. It's far too early to write him off yet, but why do you think he's made such a shocking start? In my defence, that was a year ago and he wasn't my top choice this time round. I had John Eustace, Ian Evatt and even Ian Culverhouse ahead of him. However they would also have been a risk and the bookies list of candidates was one of the most uninspiring and depressing list you could possibly imagine. He has come in at an awkward time in fairness, and has had a few injuries to deal with, but that's football and I'm not going to use any of that as an excuse and neither should Garner. Maybe he has tried to change things too soon and possibly the players haven't taken to him? Regardless, the players should be playing for the shirt and their own personal pride. If has been absolutely dire with barely a shot at goal in 6 games and totally dominated in most of those. No doubt about it, we are struggling at the moment and so is the manager. Understatement of day!

That we've played a game every 3 days. As I've just said. How often have we played these games?

Boys against men again today.. When you look at the team there’s not many you can really want to keep to push forward
Upson/leahy aren’t good enough Hardgreaves was awful today and not ready at all(probably a worst performance I’ve seen of gas player I’ve seen in years) Barrett looks good but over weight Rodman isn’t a right back
Garner has been given a crap hand of cards and needs to let go of a lot of players realistically to be consistent.
If he’s going to rebuild a good footballing team I’m happy to wait as the football at the mem has been shocking for a long time now hence the attendance being down even when we were 4th

Sounds ten times the manager than Garner. Don’t understand those who say Garner interviews well, I think the interviews are dull as dishwater. Just says what the typical bloke on the terrace would say and the sort of sh** someone would say on something like match of the day.

Have a bit of backbone Garner and face the media and explain what your thinking was to the fans. Early days, but my patience already running very thin now.

Don't know the reason he didn't interview, but there are times when a manager can give his deputy the role easily enough, and there are times when it doesn't look good.

Not sure who it was of the coaching staff but they were stood in front of Garner shouting at the players, that reminded me that Rofe did the same to Martin Dobson.

Breaking News: The club mechanic has just announced that repairs have been completed on the promotion bus and it will be back on the road after today's 3-1 win. Not usually one to get on the bandwagon but if we are to get this bus motoring again we may have to throw the current manager under it!

Garner continued to stand like a statue stroking his beard in a thoughtful manner! Occasionally he would point or give a push-up signal...that was about it!

Well that was well worth the 130 mile round trip. That was one of the most inept performances I have seen from Rovers. Outplayed all over the pitch. The only consolation for me was I missed the goals as had to leave early for a family event.

Pirate you were dead keen on BG being appointed not too long ago. It's fair to say, just because someone looks like they might be good on paper, doesn't mean they are cut out for the job. I still won't write BG off,but losing can't become a habit.

Havent read the whole thread & to be honest don't want to as I can confidently predict a lot of the comments. My take for what it's worth, we barely laid a glove on them first half & pretty much let them do as they pleased, however we defended well & Jordi wasn't tested. Much better once Reilly came on & we finally looked more of a threat. Did the better team win yes probably but up until their goal they hadn't had a shot on target that I can recall & we'd had half chances to pinch 3 points. I don't think we were as bad as at MK or the Stevenage game but the lack of a goal threat is a major concern, we have to get JCH more support either with Reilly or a new signing if possible

Disappointed like everyone else, but some of the comments on here are frankly over the top and embarrassing, if JCH puts that header away Ken Dodd is singing Happiness, fine lines the wheels were already coming off under Father Ted, he was not the new messiah FFS.

Can I just say I thought we played ok today. We never dominate possession and Doncaster weren't working our GK. At 80 minutes I would have settled for 0-0. Our defence work sooooooo hard, they must be knackered come 75 minutes, as they never get a rest.
The spirit and commitment of the players cannot be questioned in my opinion .

I still won't write BG off,but losing can't become a habit. Yes, I was a year ago. As I said before, I'd have had Eustace, Evatt and Culverhouse ahead of him this time. Hands up though and credit where it is due, the board made the right choice the first time a year ago with Coughlan as he kept us up and did a good job this season with a squad of limited ability. But at the same time a year later the appointment of Garner isn't looking so clever. I'm not writing him off totally yet, but it's obviously not looking good and he isn't doing himself any favours with some questionable decisions. We all get things wrong from time to time and this appointment might be one of those occasions. I hope not and fingers crossed he can turn things around.
